Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 I love that AA is starting to break his cone of silence a little bit. I'd love for us to get Anderson if the price is cheap, but he doesn't fit with what AA has said all along to be looking for.

Chappy Community Moderator Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 One more plus: Anderson wears #49. He'd have to buy it from Brad Lincoln. During the season I had a LiNcOln jersey back as my profile pic, capitalizing on the fact that the third and third-last letters of 'Lincoln' are 'N' and 'O', for 'North' and 'Of'. Well, the second and second-last letters of 'Anderson' are 'N' and 'O'. So he has great name symmetry. A perfect fit for the Jays. This is odd.

This and this alone is the exact reason we should target Anderson. Nothing else matters.

ace3113 Verified Member Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Over-under on how long it takes before he gets injured. Probably five minutes after the league finalizes the deal.
Jays Verified Member Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Speaking of Tercet......... tercet Posts:2608 In, Most ppl think he should bat 4th or 5th ecjf. I think we should at least let him die trying based on what he did last year. Im pretty confident he could put up a 850-900ops, but if he doesn't you ship him back to the minors and let Dopirak try, then Wallace, rather then wasting on abs on Bautista to let him hit a 725~ ops haha i bumped that thread and quoted that exact quote like 2 weeks ago on the old board.

Jays Verified Member Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Sorry man, for a second there, I was thinking about a douchebag, you'll understand my mix up, certainly not by history from here or over there. cheers.
GeorgiaPeach Verified Member Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Price's SwStk% is pretty close to what Halladay's was before he went to the Phillies. And Halladay was s***. And if he wasn't s*** check out his xFIP, and if that doesn't work, go to another stat, and if that doesn't work another. How about we look at the entire picture instead of one little f***ing snippet, instead of jumping from stat to stat to suit arguments. Its really, really dumn.

Its really, really dumn. People aren't looking to cherry pick stats to suit their vision (at least not serious people). All of this work that JFaS and others are doing help us to better understand the numbers. I do however think that in general we are too fast to attempt to apply them without considering where they may fail.
