Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 lol so much ball-licking for Beane on here. Added a highly paid closer and now JJ's a candidate for the saves record and this will end well for Oakland. One of their top paid players is now a closer. Given their relative lack of payroll flexibility this is a mediocre trade for them. There's no guarantee that they can or will trade him at any point in time during the season. If Amaro did this he'd be laughed out of this forum. Weeks is a non-issue. Now the question is if AA actually approached them with a cheaper option or not. Let's hope he did and just couldn't work things out.

TRM Verified Member Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Given the GM's involved especially.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Anderson to Toronto...... Maybe AA can convince BB to accept RR as part of the return
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Weeks' only upside is speed, but he can't get on base. He's been s*** in the MLB thus far in his career. Good move for the A's.
