Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Dream............... is and will be forever free.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Welcome. f***, that's like 4 new posters in two days, all of whom put actual thought and effort into their posts. Who ever said the offseason was a drag? lol
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 I find that hard to believe... I have an elite player at every position (if you count Jed Lowrie). My pitching staff is very mediocre though. Lol you really crave praise.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 2 years ago, the Cardinals traded a 5 tool outfielder at age 24 Who?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Who? Yeah I loves me some Colby but he's a 3 tool player. Bad arm and average speed.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Skoalby Rasmus Colby has 3 tools, if you consider his arm average/plus. He's absolutely not a 5 tool guy.
BarrysSyringe Verified Member Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Colby has 3 tools, if you consider his arm average/plus. He's absolutely not a 5 tool guy. Well at the time he was considered to have above average speed, and he still does, he just doesn't utilize it on the base paths
TRM Verified Member Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Exactly. He may be a solid middle tier shortstop but there are only 2 shortstops you can actually consider "elite" fantasy options. (I wouldn't qualify Reyes as elite in an OBP/SLG league). Lowrie is also has a career line of .264/.332/.415, so it's not like he's some safe bet. He has one good, not great, year and has injury history on top of that. He has good pop, will probably record a 5-10 ranked slash line, but offers no speed. Short version: a quality option at shortstop but nowhere near elite. I also agree with you on Kemp. When healthy, I still think he can be a very effective option. I would be surprised if he doesn't hit at least 20/20 over a full season. Is Hanley elite? his averages last year were unreal. Either way, my offence > No49s. Cheers!
SAAviour Verified Member Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 I only skimmed this post, but am I right that people want to trade Reyes? And they feel he isn't a superstar? Sure, he is no Tulo, but who the hell plays shortstop??? Sign Drew for 15 mil a year? No thanks! Shortly, Reyes's 4 year contract is going to look pretty good.
SAAviour Verified Member Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Ryan "Alomar" Goins Ahhhhh, forgot about him. Goins/izturis double play combo!

Randy The Robot Verified Member Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Yeah- His projections don't take into account that he's going to be regulated to a platoon. I think it's fair to project a 135 wRC+ for Adams/right handed hitter. regardless, my point still stands; Cardinals have no need for Bautista.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Well at the time he was considered to have above average speed, and he still does, he just doesn't utilize it on the base paths NO mi hermano...Colby could be an above average runner but him don't use that ability. Colby isn't good running the bases, he don't take extra bases frequently.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 I think it's fair to project a 135 wRC+ for Adams/right handed hitter. That's mighty convenient to plainly disregard Steamer in favor of your own conclusion. Plus, offensive contributions aren't the only area of the game that matters. Bautista's defense and baserunning is superior to Adams'. Bautista + Craig >>> Adams + Craig
TRM Verified Member Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Reyes is still a good player, but he's not elite anymore. He looks like a ~3.5 win player over a full season. Project him for like 10-12 wins over the next four years at $86 million and you're talking $7-9 million per projected win. Obviously teams will take that on, but they aren't likely to give up an elite talent to do so. Especially an organization like St. Louis. It'd be a really solid deal in free agency, which is funny because at the time people thought it was a bad contract, if I remember correctly. As you said, it's not that good of a deal though, to give up strong assets for it.

SAAviour Verified Member Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Off the top of my head, the only short stops I'd want over Reyes are: Tulo, Hanley, Simmons, segura play short?, bogarts most likely (however that's spelt).... There must be more? Who am I missing? Machado if he could handle the move...... Plus I'm sure there are a few rookies ready to step in I'm not even thinking of.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 All things considered I'd probably rather have Tulo, Desmond, Simmons, Escobar, Segura, Bogaerts, Cabrera, Profar, and Correa. Lindor, Baez? and Addison Russell
GD Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 All things considered I'd probably rather have Tulo, Desmond, Simmons, Escobar, Segura, Bogaerts, Cabrera, Profar, and Correa. Asdrubal? Why?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Everth. This makes 120% more sense. In terms of skill I'd take Reyes but contract considered I agree.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Everth. Everth is like Melky; He could be s*** (wait & see)
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 colby's 3 tools for me, but glove, power and hit, not arm. iftfy
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 I like the idea of trying to get Adams in a trade to Stl. It lets you trade EE for a 1B if you want to go full re-tool, or keep him and you DH one of them. I'd love to trade EE to the Nats for Rendon +(something good), but I'm not sure if they would want to trade him with Zim's durability issues and Rendon being able to play 2B and 3B. And I obviously only like that trade if we have Adams to step in at 1B.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 All things considered I'd probably rather have Tulo, Desmond, Simmons, Escobar, Segura, Bogaerts, Cabrera, Profar, and Correa. Assdribble? Really? Just saw you meant Everth. But even so, I wouldn't.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Yep Hanley is elite! Jed isn't, I'll admit. But one non-elite player is still pretty good. Our offenses are really close. I ran all the offenses through Steamer, and you, Dinger and I were pretty much tied (within two roto points), with FTD a bit behind. You're tops in HR and RBI, and I'm tops in R and OBP. If people want I could post the full results. Seria una buena idea lol I wanna see ps
