Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Disagree with Sierra being a 4th of. Sure, lots of us see ways out. But does AA? sierra is my 4th outfielder and gose is my every day right fielder. Yes I do know how bad he was offensively but I still believe in him especially defensively
Cooler Heads Prevail Verified Member Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Sanchez + Lawrie + Stroman + ? Really, really stupid idea.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted November 11, 2013 Author Posted November 11, 2013 No Janssen?............bye bye Porcello
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 If you expected Casey to be the foundation of a Porcello trade you would be very disapointed. They be like hey hows dat Bautista guy. Sanchez and Stroman have looked pretty good this Fall. 0% chance Bautista would be involved in a trade for Porcello. I can most certainly see a package around Janssen for Porcello.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Are you suggesting it would take Bautista + Stroman/Sanchez for Porcello? no, that isn't what he's suggesting I don't think
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 It's a good thing we have the comp system to help bridge the gap between the rich and the poor. LOL. Just what I was thinking looking at that list. What a crock.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 LOL. Just what I was thinking looking at that list. What a crock. does it really matter where the jays draft as long as AA's gut is in charge of making the decisions? dont even bring in the whole lack of development in the jays farm.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2013 Author Posted November 12, 2013 Are you suggesting it would take Bautista + Stroman/Sanchez for Porcello? Sound fine for me. Bautista + Stroman for Porcello.................................. Smyly + Castellanos + Avila + Rondon
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Lmfao oh my god. Cano to the blue jays as a sleeper free agent? ...bleacher report? Jesus Christ Thanks for saving me from clicking on it
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Thanks for saving me from clicking on it the whole 5 year, not wanting to give a guy 200 million dollars thing will stop this from ever happening.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Very doubtful New York loses Cano and Kuroda, if they do they will be hurting this year. Same goes for Boston, Ellsbury would be a big blow and if Drew goes they got Xander and Middlebrooks on the left side something i wouldn't be to excited about if i was a Boston fan.

Why wouldn't they be excited about Boogers being their starting SS? Top 3 prospect in the game and a cheap option.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I'd be pretty goddamn excited to have Xander Bogaerts starting at short for the Jays next year. jays have SS locked up for 3 years. it's second, 1st, C, LF and the rotation they need to fix without taking from any of the other positions.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Don't you think Cano could be a sneaky little signing for us though? I think Cano has big upside, and we could use a second baseman. No. Not at his price. You're not serious, right?
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I think he's saying that if the jays had Bogaerts starting at SS, he would be damn excited. Not implying we would trade for him... Bogaerts is probably untouchable... lol he's an exciting player. I'd hope the jays can fill some of the holes in their roster with a couple exciting players. ticket sales growth wont continue without some good moves this off season. the sheep will not be as easy to fool this year. season tickets and flex packs will fall if people dont see a move in what is at least perceived as a move in the right direction.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 No. Not at his price. You're not serious, right? I will say this: If ever there was a year that AA might make a foolish massive free agent signing, it's this one.

Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I'd be pretty goddamn excited to have Xander Bogaerts starting at short for the Jays next year. It's still a risk to go with an unknown like that for a full season for a championship team like Boston.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Is it your money? I would welcome cano with arms wide open We all would He would add like 7-8 wins to this team instantly compared to our 2013 2B experiment. We just know it's not gonna happen
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 It's still a risk to go with an unknown like that for a full season for a championship team like Boston. They like their "name" players...
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I'd actually be pretty pissed if this happened. I have no hope for this regime and I'd rather the next GM not have 6 years and $150 million remaining on a Cano deal. These deals almost always end in disaster. this is a great time for AA to stick to the no deals over 5 years jays rule.

Like all these superstar prime FA guys you'd pay the AAV if you could get him for 5-6 years. But there's always some desperate team (Angels, Tigers, etc) who will make it 9 or 10. Blech.

As a TB Rays fan i would be thrilled if the Jays did this. As a jays fan, why would we want an ARod like contract on the books and not address the more pressing needs. catcher and starting pitching. It's not going to happen. no way. ever.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 So it's pretty much certain that Stroman won't be pitching in the Jays organization next year? I can already see the press conference introducing Brandon Phillips as our new 2nd baseman in Toronto. "We loved Stroman but second base has been a bit of a weak spot for us..." -AA lol
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 they only thing that scares me about this off season, the fact that AA(probably pushed by Beeston) made some pretty panicked moves that screamed desperate last off season, how desperate and stupid are they this off season? YIKES!
