I think it would be pretty distracting to have a player on your team you know your basically going to sell to the major leagues. It's pretty clear he wants to come over. It will just sour the relationship.

That would be creatively interesting, but it wouldn't work since they'd have no ability to pull him back after he was posted (ie, literally every team would have to be in on the ploy). They'd have no ability to make that demand otherwise.
