G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Lots to talk about and would rather have a separate thread instead of relying on around baseball Post links to stories, news, tweets, announcements here. And predictions if you like.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 22, 2013 Author Posted October 22, 2013 Matheny doing lots of interviews Wainwright game 1, Wacha game 2 Allan Craig to DH at Fenway
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Great series. Two of the best org's in the business. Cards in 6
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 22, 2013 Author Posted October 22, 2013 2014? HHaha. Hopefully I didn't just predict the 2014 participants Thread title fixed. Thanks.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 22, 2013 Author Posted October 22, 2013 Toughest choice for Farrell - Who plays 1B in St. Louis? Ortiz or Napoli?? Does it depend on opposing pitcher? On defensive needs? It sure hurts not having both in the lineup. Matheny has it easier. Craig is an easy choice for DH in Boston.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Cards will with the first 2 for sure..... I would say cards in 5
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 22, 2013 Author Posted October 22, 2013 Did Napoli play any catcher at all this year??? Would you think about it if he'd only caught a few innings this season??
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Did Napoli play any catcher at all this year??? I am almost positive he has not played one inning this season as a catcher
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 22, 2013 Author Posted October 22, 2013 I just looked it up. Napoli caught 72 games in 2012. 0 in 2013. Not really an option to get his bat in the lineup.
RickyWalks Verified Member Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Watch Wacha implode in Game 2.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 22, 2013 Author Posted October 22, 2013 I am almost positive he has not played one inning this season as a catcher I'll bet he does this series though. There will be a huge spot late in a game at St. Louis, with the pitcher or Salty due up. Farrell will be too tempted and will pinch hit with Napoli or Ortiz. Napoli may have to catch an inning or two. Edit: Or double switch for their other catcher I suppose

It will be interesting that is for sure.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 22, 2013 Author Posted October 22, 2013 I'm really hoping for good TV ratings this year Two interesting teams. Likely to go 6 games or more. Bad football games on Thursday Sunday and Monday nights Ratings should be better than last year. Thoughts?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 22, 2013 Author Posted October 22, 2013 For the Farrell fans:
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 22, 2013 Author Posted October 22, 2013 BTW, SiriusXM is doing a great job covering baseball today. It's been by far the main focus of discussion every time I've turned on ESPN Radio or Mad Dog. Especially Mad Dog - they've been camped out at Fenway all day, interviewing everybody.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 None of us want the Redsox to win, but im predicting Redsox win the series in 5 games.

C'mon guys, we all know the Sox are gonna pull a few miracles out of their asses. Wacha is finally going to blow up, the cardinal bats will go cold. I can see it now. Uggh.

Yup, agree with you except that I think they'll sweep the Cards. Red Sox can't do a thing wrong this year, I wouldn't be surprised if Molina has 4 passed balls in this series lol.
