  1. 1. What would you do If you were GM

    • Total Rebuild ,restock the farm and MLB roster
    • Trade a key piece for what the team needs
    • Trade what is left on the farm and go all in

Question , How much value do these Vets lose if we keep them till the trade deadline ? I think very little thus I see what this team can do in the first half . Unfortunately I believe AA,s job is on the line here so a firesale at the deadline even if we aren't close seems unlikely .

Ownership would rather roll a head even if it is innocent than admit they were even partly to blame . What is best for the long term health of the team isn't in the equation anymore . The more I look back the more I realize how stupid going all in last year was .

I think that if the team tanks again next season, AA is gone, possibly before the end of July. The bigger issue to me is Beeston, I'd like to think he'd be fired or would retire to allow a new president to hire the baseball operations personnel.

Now that isn't even hard . JPA would get 99% of the votes

Jays need to run an offseason like they are training a marathon team so they won't wind up the most injured team in baseball

That's too easy. Beeston. We get a new president. The prez fires AA. We get a new GM. GM makes JPA go away for a little while (our GM is an italian mobster). We get all three at once.

I would also choose option "B". I know injuries are part of the game but for a second year the Jays had to play with 2/5 of their rotation and that's too tough to overcome especially with no real pitching depth. I do not think it is even possible to replicate the total mess the Jays had defensively at 2B and that costs quite a few games in my opinion. I believe with just a few additions (without depleting the farm-no more "all-in") the Jays should have a really good team in 2014. I concur with your thoughts along the line of looking to see where the team is at in July and making the appropriate move then. The Jays will have lots of desirables at the trade-deadline if it comes to that.

If you're getting full support from ownership you spend, McCann/Tanaka and Infante. Trade for Cahill, done.

LOL Jay , I guess I should have stated a budget . Love your offseason though if money isn't an issue . I'd even take Ruiz instead of McCann

If Anthopoulos is getting "full support" from ownership then the budget shouldn't really be a problem theoretically. It will be interesting to see what is happening over the off-season.

We are on the cliff already... We can take a shot in 2014 ( hugley dependent on health ) and if it doiesn't work then we Have to gut or go over the cliff

Hopefully the FO is seeing it the same way and have a plan in place to change directions quickly if/when things start to fall apart by July. The value of those assets will start to fall off quickly so they cannot drag their feet on this.

If the team keeps heading down the old, expensive, wily vet path, I hope the organization goes off a cliff. f*** everyone for a good 4, 5 years.

I know with each passing day the value of those vets can go down quickly however I am curious to know if you are deadset on option "A" or if you would even entertain option "B" with a July timeline in which to change course. Or in your mind that would be too late to move those assets to rebuild/restock the farm?
