Jays Verified Member Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 I say what the hell, give it to him.
Convo Verified Member Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Would absolutely love to see him out there if the game doesn't impact the WC - would put an ounce of flavour on this dirt pie of a season.
flafson Verified Member Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Let him start and then switch to Redmond, will probably be same result anyway.

I wonder what fans would have thought in April if they knew Oliver was going to be starting in the final series of the season...
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 Let him start and then switch to Redmond, will probably be same result anyway. Yeah this sounds good
mitchf Verified Member Posted September 28, 2013 Posted September 28, 2013 I don't see a problem with this? None of our starters are good anyways.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 What they could have done is just start Oliver and have Redmond start in the second inning. What if we have a lead and Redmond pitches into the 7th they use Oliver over Santos, Delabar, and McGowan. Problem is, with the Rays in the middle of the wildcard-race, not using your best(relatively speaking) guy to start the game and giving a nod to a retiring veteran wouldn't really be respecting the race. Could you imagine the shitstorm that would rain on Toronto by MLB if the Rays won, the other teams lost and it's because they put up 3 or more runs on Oliver in the first inning?
admin Site Manager Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 Hey Darren, remember when you were holding out for more money and were going to retire? Go f*** yourself.
admin Site Manager Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 f*** his agent too then. That aside, I wouldn't care if he pitched, but obviously they can't do it with this game being so important, as you mentioned.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 What a slap in the face to Darren
TheHurl Site Manager Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 He really should have made the request during the O's series...I liked him throughout his career and if I were there today I'd give him a nice applause but he's probably not the kind of guy that deserves a special start.
