That's fair and the Wentz situation complicates the situation. If Wentz isn't the equation, you can't simply reinforce that Jalen is your guy, but the staff wanted to see what Sudfeld had to see if they needed to address the backup QB position this offseason. I don't think anyone should or would be butt hurt about that.

I fully expect that's the situation and they'll trade Wentz before or during the draft. Wentz was f***ing horrendous this year. The fact there was anyone in their locker room still backing Wentz speaks volumes to the stupidity of players in the NFL. It really makes the entire discussion about the players reaction pointless and I'm sorry I even brought it up. My bad.

I’m not sure Wentz situation is cut and dry but I can agree he was horrendous this year. Should be noted he was minus weapons but I watched a few games and he was really, really bad.

But not like Hurts is Trevor Lawrence. So do you toss a QB that was really good before this year and had 1 really bad season (this goes for all sports)? I think at this point you kind of have to in this situation. I could see a team like the Patriots offering a late 1st though.

I agree with most of this, except for the part about the players. In the NFL, unless you're a stud like Josh Allen or Mahomes, there isn't a lot of job security or guaranteed money. Players do not and should not care about where the Eagles pick because by the time that player is making an impact (assuming they ever do) it's likely most of the guys on the current team are gone. Players don't play to lose, even in a meaningless year because you're always thinking about the next contract, and for most, careers in the NFL are very short.

But yeah, I would be very annoyed if I was a fan of the Giants but...THEY could have beaten the Eagles and none of this would be an issue. I'd rather watch the resurrection of Alex Smith continue into the playoffs anyway, and with WFT's very good pass rush and it being past Brady's bed time, I think the Football Team has a solid shot at an upset. They were rolling until Smith got hurt.

I agree I'd rather watch Alex Smith and the WFT carry on....but I'm kind of confused on how winning or losing that last game tangibly affects the job security. Would another catch or 2, or even another touchdown by Ertz change their decision on whether they extend him or cut him loose this offseason? I f***ing hope not. Nobody makes decisions on a LB based on the teams win/loss record. Everybody on that field had the choice to continuing playing as hard as they possibly could. If they chose not to because they were upset with a coaching decision, then that's on them.

Fair point that most of the players won't give a s*** about the teams draft pick as they may not be with Philly next year. I don't really like all the yearly movement in the NFL personally.

You think they'll go into next year with both of them in a battle? I doubt it. If they can get a late 1st pick for Wentz they are taking that all day long. I kind of expect a 4th will be the best they can get.

No... at this point I think it’s broken beyond repair. I just meant I could understand how some people might think he was still the best QB there. Lesser unproven QBs have returned 2nd in the last couple years, no way he goes for less than that. Patriots again, for instance, would be nuts not to give up a 2nd for him at least. Heck even the Redskin, though they wouldn’t trade him within the division

Football QB is nuts though. I just saw an article today with Adam Schefter saying Washington was a potential landing spot for Cam and he estimates the deal would be up to 2/50 with incentives. Yuck. Cam looked cooked in terms of passing

Yeah that seems insane.

Is that the scuttlebutt, right now? I can't see that happening.

There’s no way he’s going anywhere unless it’s an other-worldly package beyond just multiple 1st round picks.

If he wants to be traded he’ll just have to suck it up. Maybe him and Harden are buds or something?

Deshaun Watson is NOT the reason the Texans are bad. He should be in the MVP conversation tbh. It's hard to lose 12 games with the league's leading passer.

I bet if you asked random NFL fans who the league leader in passing yards is, none would guess Watson. He deserves better, and since the Texans gave away their #3 pick to Miami, that help isn't coming any time soon.

So who you guys got for MVP? You know it's going to be Rodgers right, lol... yeah MVP!!!

Look how good Fitz was, Miami should've just let him play all season, start up Tua next year, dummies.

Tua Turnsdaballova sucks, and I think Miami should take a QB. He just doesn't look like he has a ton of tools. Meh arm, not super mobile, can't throw on the run, not good at reading coverage. Some will get smoothed out with experience but most won't.

Rodgers is begrudgingly MVP, and I'd put Allen, Mahomes, Henry and Watson behind him, in that order.

Pretty sure that’s the consensus on Watson. Fwiw I saw an article from a guy that covers the Texans and he said the team was quick to put the kibosh on the whole thing, saying they wouldn’t trade him even if he asked

I guess the only scenario I can think of if he was hell bent on leaving is if you really like a rookie QB like Fields or the BYU kid (going to assume Jax is content with Lawrence) and then added like 3 future 1st round picks. Even then would be iffy

Watson has 3 years left before he can get out of his contract, and he starts getting really expensive (40 million cap hit) in 2022. That should play a factor.

Wow... he didn't have possession???

Nice, they got it right. Bills have massive horseshoes up their ass at the moment.

Allen like a boss, Bills take the lead.

Colts fans are probably pissed, the the officials looked like they got all three of those calls right on that drive.

Oh yeah, Colts have shot themselves in the foot that possession.
