jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 Dude, the Dolphins have faced one good team this year. One. Know what happened? They lost by 4 TDs. The combined record of the teams they beat is something like 5-20 or something. I'll never consider guys like Purdy or Tua to be MVPs because they are beneficiaries of their weapons and system. Tua throws to his first read 80% of the time. If you disrupt route timing and make him move off his first read, he drops off dramatically. He can't create out of structure like the best QBs can. Once he starts facing defenses that aren't complete trash, he's going to show why he's not as good as everyone seems to think. I would bet Hill doesn't reach 2k. I never said Purdy should be considered an MVP and I never even considered him one. Spanky said Allen is the best QB in the game because of QBR and when I looked it up, Purdy was No. 1 in that statistical category. Tua will be considered by voters obviously and if he finishes with better numbers and the Dolphins finish with a better record, he likely gets it. Allen has a chance as well, but it will come down to where each team finishes in the division. I still like Buffalo, but I don't consider them as one of the best teams in the NFL right now. They're on the borderline though. Just show some consistency, play disciplined football and the Bills are right at the top IMO. Also, experience in the NFL Playoffs go a long way. Allen and the Bills have failed to win the big game yet that gets them to the Super Bowl.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 That's because Allen IS the best QB in the NFL.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 That's because Allen IS the best QB in the NFL. If he plays disciplined, I think he definitely is for sure.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 Dolphins @ Eagles for SNF this week! This should be a real test for the Dolphins.

Allen and the Bills have failed to win the big game yet that gets them to the Super Bowl. The Bills have won more playoff games in the last few years than any team aside from the Chiefs lol It's funny how NFL fandom works. The Dolphins were the best team in football, then got spanked by a better team, then dropped down to like 5 or 6 on most power rankings, then beat a couple of s***** teams and it's back to #1. The Bills beat the Dolphins by 4 TDs, everyone was like "hmm maybe our shallow analysis was wrong", then they play a sluggish game in London, then they play a lackluster game against the Giants and they are back to being meh. And the Chiefs squeak by week after week and no one says anything
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2023 Posted October 21, 2023 The Chiefs are kind of notorious for sleeping through parts of the regular season, but then put it together by the time playoffs come around. Kind of like the NE dynasty. You just assume they’ll win when it matters

Kind of like the NE dynasty. You just assume they’ll win when it matters The difference is that the offense still looks good, even when they sleepwalk. Maybe one year they don't convert RZ trips to TDs or the defense sucks ass, and that's why the game is close...but the offense looks very mediocre. And Mahomes has had some really concerning throws, like that time Collinsworth had to pull Pat's dick out of his mouth to express his shock that an extreme underthrow wasn't a tipped pass
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 Bills disappointing once again! This Bills aren't playing like an elite team.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 Football today sucked dirty ass.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 Also, Love stinks, his decisions are flat out bad. That needs to stop.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 Bills disappointing once again! This Bills aren't playing like an elite team. Yep, this first half malaise is something else, they are dogshit right now. I don't know what the issue is. On the plus side, everything I said about the Dolphins is 100% true. On the down side, they play a lot of dogshit teams down the stretch.

Some would say visionary, though I won't go quite there.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 Also, Love stinks, his decisions are flat out bad. That needs to stop. It's certainly not looking good. Just keep losing now and try to land Caleb Williams, Shedeur Sanders or Drake Maye in the draft. Actually, there looks to be a ton of QB's projected in the 1st round this year - possibly 6-8.

Better for this to happen now than in the second half or leading up to the Playoffs. Hopefully the Bills could figure things out. Winning the division for them is important. Yeah the Dolphins need to prove they could be a top team, which they haven't so far. Failed against Buffalo and Philly, both on the road. Will definitely give you that! Dolphins still need to show more.

They are frauds. I accept the Bills need to figure their s*** out, and part of that is them caging Josh Allen. Yeah, he turns the ball over. He's still turning the ball over, and so are all the other best QBs. You can't bottle up one of the great talents at the QB position. Josh needs to not do stupid things, but also scramble for 15-20 yards like he can instead of getting out of trouble and throwing an errant pass to someone who isn't going to catch it. Honestly, the Bills used to be so fun to watch while winning game after game, and now I feel like they are turning him into McCorkle Jones or Tua without all his 4.3 guys to get yards for him after a dump off.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2023 Posted October 24, 2023 No one's beating this team, man, call the season off and call it a day. The 49ers officially were mushed. 0-2 (not even playing top teams) since Spanky weighed in

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 24, 2023 Posted October 24, 2023 Is Josh Allen still winning the MVP bud? haha. Sure, why not? We're moving into week 8, meat.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 A Packer win over the Vikings would be nice.

Yikes... getting slapped around in Lambeau by the Vikings.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 This offense stinks. TD or nothing fools. That's better... At least they TD's and gave the D rest for once.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 Yeah, so Love suxxxxxx right now, just now, right?
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 The lost Cousins for season looks like
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted October 29, 2023 Posted October 29, 2023 Geez Spanky, ever since you mushed SF, it’s been all downhill
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 Geez Spanky, ever since you mushed SF, it’s been all downhill Do you think I'm a fan, moron?
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 Do you think I'm a fan, moron? Doesn’t matter. Just saying you mushed them and don’t know your stuff if you declared them the defacto team to beat
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 Yeah, so Love suxxxxxx right now, just now, right? He's really inaccurate. Doubt he's the future for the Packers unfortunately - unless they can overhaul his mechanics and make him more accurate like Buffalo did with Allen.

Yeah, this team needs to start drafting on offense for once, like f***. Frustrating.
