Boxy's ass is still ripe, lmao.

I mean, I didn't even talk about how they twice got miraculous penalties right when they needed them in back to back games for game winning FGs.

The refs in this game were ridiculous. Huge block in the back during the final punt return, which was the whole reason for Mahomes being in position to flop for 15. Massive holds missed by the Chiefs OL, but I guess that's normal.

My god I can't f***ing stand them. I hope they get blown out but maybe I shouldn't since these things don't seem to go my way

My issue is that these calls seemed to always go in KC's favor. Sure, they'd throw an odd offensive hold in here or there, but on critical plays? Always went KC's way. Look at the IG situations. Burrow does it, IG, even though he was trying to get it out in Perine's direction and got hit. Mahomes does it a few plays later, no flags to be seen.

Getting pretty tired of it.

Well to alleviate that whole situation, they could have called an illegal block earlier and the Chiefs wouldn't have made it to mid field

The worst part about this were Travis Kelce's inevitable "no one expected us to be here" comments, despite being top 3 in Superbowl odds from day one, Mahomes winning MVP (????) and the fellating Mahomes receives.

He has the easiest job of any QB in the game. He has maybe the best playcaller in the history of the sport scheming wide open guys, a top 3 OL, the best or second best receiving TE ever and never has to make a difficult throw. So after watching Mahomes dink and dunk all game for under 200 yards to wide open guys, people come away saying he's magical. Wtf is so magical about throwing a 2 yard pass to a guy with no one in the same area code for a TD, twice?

Mahomes is good. He is being overrated like hell, though.

And f*** Chief fans, the team and Brittany Mahomes.

Yo bro, lol.

The possible #1 overall pick charged with reckless driving and racing in an event that lead to the other person that was racing dying.

Wonder what that’ll do to this draft stock. Luckily it’s not really a “woke” thing like Trevor Bauer. He was car racing and someone died, but I doubt he’ll drop very far

Trying to retaliate for me calling out your dumb post earlier today? It’s not my fault you’re dumb

After consulting with legal council (ie, TMZ), they said that if they were racing and they caused another accident, which resulted in someone dying - that he would have been charged with manslaughter. But in this case - they probably can't prove that Jalen Carter caused the accident (besides being involved in the race), he probably just gets the reckless driving and racing charges.

That said, Laremy Tunsil dropped like 10 spots in the draft after a video of him hitting the bong through a gas mask emerged just before the draft. Maybe that's the 'woke' stuff connorp was referring to, but it will be interesting to see if he falls because of this.

I was drawing a parallel to Trevor Bauer. Yes, it’s the NFL but it’s the same Twitter warriors. It’s amazing they can’t just look at D. Watson and understand the bark is about as effective as boycotting that new Harry Potter video game

Rodgers to the Jets in 3, 2, 1...

I'm really curious to see what they can get for him. It's a new era in GB and I'm excited to see the rebuild. I've got a little optimistism that Love is the guy.

I just clicked on a random mock draft and it suggested "The Jets give up their second- and third-round picks in 2023 and 2024 along with Elijah Moore in the Rodgers deal." Looks like the Packers could the top TE or Smith-Njigba with their own pick...

WR - Watson, Doubs, Moore

TE - Kincad

Young, but skilled.

I was coming to say that I dont think either will drop that far before I realized that GB is picking at 15. So used to them being in the mid-high 20s.

Aaron Rodgers is such a goddamn diva. I want to like the guy but every time I start to come around, he pulls this s***. Last I heard was Rich Eisen bitching about how GB wants 2 firsts. That would be quite the get for the Packers.

Random, LOL @ the Cardinals. I had no idea they finished the year with 4 wins. Did CoD have an early release?

Imagine paying Kyler Murray Mahomes/Allen money just to drive your s***** franchise straight into the ground.

GB has to be doing a dog and pony show. I’m not sure how many teams want AR’s contract now that a couple teams locked in with someone.

They seem to be ready to offload all that cash and go to Chapter 2

I had originally thought that GB had no leverage and thus won't get s*** for AR, but a friend pointed out that with AR announcing he wants to play for the Jets - NY has a ton of pressure on them to get this done (especially after overpaying to sign Allen Lazard). If AR ends up retiring the Jets FO will look like morons and the fans will lose their s*** (for what that's worth).

Their only backup plan would be Lamar Jackson, but he's no guarantee because Baltimore can match any offer.

I hope it all ends today. I'm not sure if GB will reallocate that money into some big time FA's (or simply accept they are rebuilding and keep their salary cap in good shape), but if they want to, they'll need to start acting quickly. Some improvements to the O Line would be nice to give Love time/comfort to develop. Add some weapons and defense through the draft.

Yeah, that’s sort of the rub. If a player is trying to force a trade, it’s much better for the team to work behind the scenes like they’re trying to make a deal. I guess players just don’t trust teams will do the right thing, so they put it out there

Actually I see what you’re saying. But it just cloudies the whole thing. Kind of better he shuts up. It was seeming very mutual. If it’s not mutual, I can see getting loud if you feel team is sitting on their hands

Because of a Yahoo article? Yikes.

The Rams got two 1st round picks, a 3rd rounder and Goff for Stafford is a similar situation. Although AR is older and there's more risk he only plays 1 year for the Jets - he's arguably also better than Stafford was when he was traded to the Rams. Despite the suggestion that GB doesn't want Rodgers anymore (not sure anyone knows if this is true or not), he's a massive trade chip. There's no real downside to GB digging in their heels a bit and dragging this out (only thing is AR may get mad and just retire, or it may affect their free agency spending?). A smart franchise is going to want to get as much as they possibly can back in this situation.

I'm sure they'll eventually come to an agreement that everyone can live with.

You’re only considering it an asset, and he only got the contract, because Tom Brady.

Otherwise NFL QBs are always cooked at 40. Even Brett Favre had a swan song but was cooked at 40. I can only remember Jon Kitna and stop gap qbs after 40. Coming off a season like last, I’m not sure Rodgers gets anything like that contract

I don't know what you're trying to say. I'm considering AR an asset? I mean another team seems to want him, so that makes him an asset. I don't really care about his Contract as it doesn't seem to be deterring the Jets. Is AR going to be the next Tom Brady and/or Drew Brees (who also was good until age 42)? Who knows - the Jets seem to want to find out. They think they're the Broncos adding Peyton Manning or the Bucs adding Brady.

I don’t think he’s worth a 1st round draft pick++ for the honor of paying him $50m/year past 40. So that’s probably why it’s stuck and so I side with Rodgers calling it out (if that report is true)

This is how negotiations go. Even if he isn't worth a 1st round pick ++, there's no major reason for GB to cave in right now. By going live and saying he wants to play in NY, it puts more pressure on NY to get it done. They're sitting there was a mega talented team that just has no QB at all to lead them. Unless Lamar is the fallback - AR is the only real option they have left. Or they could just squander the opportunity and hope Zack Wilson or some shitballer like Carson Wentz/Matt Ryan can lead them to the SB.

And again - we just saw the Ram give up multiple 1sts and a 3rd for Stafford - and go on to win the Super Bowl - so the precedence has been set. I am doubtful that GB gets a 1st rounder for him - especially in the 2023 draft (maybe they get a 2024 1st rounder), but we'll see.

Fwiw I badly want the Packers to completely f*** over the Jets at this point. It would be hilarious.

I also dunno why the Jets want Rodgers so bad. He said he was 90% retired. When you're fighting for second place in the AFC East, how invested is he gonna be? The Jets probably signed all those guys in the hopes that their presence would make him give a s***. If they wanted to overspend on a mid QB with a s***** attitude, they could just sign Lamar Jackson and not give up any picks.

I don’t know the football cap well enough, or the Jets cap situation to understand how it would affect the team, but I read about how bad it f***s other teams up. Just doesn’t seem like a big win to put so much to a QB you’re not entirely sure isn’t on the sharp decline and giving up 1st round pick to do so…

I imagine you have a divided Jets base over it. My brother is a fan and I’m going to text him now to see where he stands lol

Yeah, as I thought, my brother hates the idea. He said it’s probably casuals that are like “Aaron Rodgers!!l” prob true idk

The Jets are middle of the pack for cap space, around 15 million, but you can do a bunch of ******** to give yourself more room. So they would likely convert a bunch of Rodgers' salary into a signing bonus and then prorate that over time, but the problem is that he's going to retire after this season. So the Jets are going to have to tack on a bunch of void years so they can spread that dead cap out.

You could see them agree to something like 50/1 with 4 void years tacked on the end.

All a bit silly for what will amount to a team that smells a lot like the Broncos last year. I mean, if they are doing this, f*** it, may as well also just give OBJ 20m.

What does excite me is the possibility that the Jets will challenge the Dolphins for second place in the East, hopefully, because I can't stand the goddamn Dolphins.

That's not true. Lamar is a restricted FA, so if the Jets sign him to an offer sheet, Baltimore can match it. If they don't match it, than the Jets get him, but have to give up two 1st round picks.

For a guy who's missed 5 games in each of the last 2 years and isn't as good as Rodgers (albeit he's someone you'd have at QB for the foreseeable future). Oh and he wants a fully guaranteed contract and a record high deal.

Or you can stick with Zach Wilson for a few more years until he goes to play in the XFL. So pick your poison.

I actually didn't realize that if the Ravens refuse to match the offer, they get compensated, and compensated that much. That's wild.

I'm gonna hold out hope that he ends up in Miami because I am going to die on the hill of Lamar being a s***** QB if he can't run anymore.

When does he can't run anymore though, is key. He's still that guy, for a likely long time, and he can still throw the skin well, mate. Careful what you wish for.
