Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted November 5, 2021 Posted November 5, 2021 The Chiefs fascinate me. Every week, they fail to cover the spread and every week a lot of people put money on them doing it. Every week, people say "this is the week where the Chiefs wake up" and every week they look like a s***** team. Now they play GB, and yes, they don't have Rodgers (though, come on, claiming to have immunity from homeopathic treatments, aka water, is hilarious) but the Chiefs really should have lost to the Giants if Joe Judge isn't a moron, at home. GB is a way better team, with or without Rodgers and Alexander. Douglas played extremely well and that game ending interception last week was sweet as f***. Given all this, 7/10 panelists at the NFL Network picked KC to win. This refusal to accept reality is incredible. Not to say KC has no chance or anything, Jets beat the Bengals and Titans after all, but what team are they watching to make them believe KC is a slam dunk? Tape from last year?
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted November 5, 2021 Posted November 5, 2021 I am so tired of this s***. I get homeopathy is quack medicine and all but holy s***, what is up with people's fervor about a vaccine that doesn't work like a vaccine? You mention treatment options once you get it and all of a sudden you're snacking on fish tank cleaner and eating horse paste and if you choose not to get it, a large number of people are good with treating you as if you're scum and not worthy to work, eat, participate in anything, etc. Pfizer et al did a fantastic job. They must be raking in money thanks to the total f***ing idiots who constantly complain and rail against big pharma. I have 0 problem with people that don't want to get the vaccine, but there's a big disconnect in most of those people's logic logic, especially those like Rogers who calls himself a "critical thinker" who then talks to Joe Rogan for treatment advice. Consulting anyone other than a medical professional for treatment advice isn't critical thinking, it's f***ing stupid. Choosing to get vaccinated or not is absolutely a personal decision, but that personal decision has the potential to not just impact that person. It has the potential to affect people that have no control over the situation. Also, don't be a scumbag and lie about it. Get the vaccine or don't, but don't lie about it. The PA agreed to the rules, follow them or don't. If you don't there's repercussions. Own your decision and stick by it. Now he says he didn't get it because he was allergic to an ingredient in the mRNA vaccines. Who has a problem with anyone saying they cant get it because they're allergic? Nobody tells you take something you're allergic to.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted November 5, 2021 Posted November 5, 2021 AR said he had been “immunized”, anyone that took that for vaccinated should blame themselves. And if the Packers took that and chose not to ask for the vaccine card, that’s on them too

Knowing the moderation here and their huge support for big pharmaceutical companies, I'm not venturing further into dicey territory but I'm not sure that Rodgers technically lied. He said he was seeking an exemption from the league but was denied. He made an appearance on Pat McAfee's show that I haven't watched so he probably explains the situation there. I don't like Rodgers but one thing I'll never take away from him is that he's extremely honest.

"The organization & my teammates knew exactly what my status was.. there was nothing that was hidden." ""I'm not an anti-vaxx, flat-earther.. I have an allergy to an ingredient that's in the mRNA vaccines. I found a long term immunization protocol to protect myself & I'm very proud of the research that went into that" - LOL at that one. The whole issue is that he told the media he was "immunized." The whole interview was pretty entertaining but really all it showed was that Rodgers doesn't really know what critical thinking is, thinks he understands things he doesn't, and still won't take other vaccines that he's not allergic to. That pretty much sums it up.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 6, 2021 Posted November 6, 2021 Who f***ing cares what he said to the media, he didn't lie, both the team and league knew his reasoning. It's his choice, that's what sums it up. As long as he stuck to protocol's who cares, f*** the media, they're a bunch of clickbait rats looking for a story to fabricate. f***ing hacks!

We can laugh at homeopathy but he dated Danica Patrick who is big into crystal magic and s*** so this shouldn't be super surprising. And in the last part he doesn't really sound much different than any other athlete. LeBron James doesn't understand anything he advocates for, including the communist government of China who are currently employing slave labor and commiting a genocide, and he hasn't faced anything close to this level of media backlash. Athletes are generally not the smartest. You'll get a Granderson or Hendricks here and there but you'll find a lot more Torii Hunters and Josh Hamiltons. I peeked at NBC Sports' YouTube page and calculated that Mike Florio has talked about Aaron Rodgers and his crime against humanity for literally 120 minutes and 9 segments over the past two days. His job is to cover the entire league. Did he lie, yes or no. That is the only question that matters.

I don't get why the media has the right to know someone's vaccination status, nor why any athlete's opinion on vaccinations is relevant at all. They're all idiots for the most part (as are the media asking the question) that wouldn't recognize real science if it hit them in the head and gave them a concussion.

They don't which is why athletes who are not vaccinated say something along the lines of "It's a personal matter, no comment". Not that I have been following the story because I really don't give a f*** but my understanding is that the issue is he made it seem like he was by saying he was immunized and was not following the proper protocols in the preseason which was never questioned because everyone thought he was based on him saying he was "immunized".

Just going to counter this in the sense of athletes choosing not to get vaccinated. There’s no complete science on the vaccines. That’s just fact. All you can say it “right now there’s no evidence of infertility issues” (just as a random example)…that doesn’t mean it can’t be a long-time side effect they learn about a year from now. You can make fun of a guy like AR for doing research on alternative treatments because they’re far less effective as the vaccines but there are plenty of studies supporting them on a lesser scale (and doctors that will prescribe) and more importantly, 70 years of history to know long term effects and all the other side effects. I think it’s become if you don’t get a vaccine, you’re a Trumper. Kudos to all the athletes and workers that are willing to lose their jobs, not because of political affiliation but they don’t want to have to put an unknown vaccine in their body. I am folding like a cheap tent and getting one to continue being employed. AR has to deal with all the other extra precautions that are a pain in the ass since he’s not vaccinated. Kylie Irving is losing huge money etc
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 Oh, Christian McCaffrey is back today, coolio.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 Man, I hope Love plays well, everyone has them written off save for a few.

Kylie Irving is losing huge money etc The whole “complete science” argument is ********. Science is never complete. That’s it’s entire point of being a thing. People who use the “incomplete science” defence can have the exact same argument used against them in dozens of other aspects of their lives that they never even think about. There’s no complete science about the long term effects of COVID either, but that doesn’t seem to matter to people who don’t do a damn thing about trying to avoid it. There’s no complete science on Ivrmectin as a treatment, but people love to throw that out there like it’s proven. There’s no complete science on virtually anything. It’s the worst argument anyone could ever use as a defence. “I just don’t want to” is more defensible.

Pulling back to athletes so it doesn’t go off the rails, a lot of these guys are super anal about what goes in their bodies. Even the liberal King- The King- Lebron James took a few months on it and hardly gave it a big thumbs up. A lot of NBA players back Kylie Irving for that reason. Not many of them are leaving money on the table. While no science is complete, you’re taking a real leap to saying we know everything there is to know about the vaccines. You don’t even need to wear a tin hat to know if there’s some things popping up, as long as they’re not huge red flags, they’re going to be considered noise bc a headline about any real side effect would blow everything up- even if it’s like 2% of people have such and such major issue
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 So a pick 6 penalizes your fantasy Defense? That's retarded. Nice catch Sanders. I don't like that trade anymore Boxbike!
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 Great play by People-Jones and Mayfield. Yup, I dropped him, lol.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 All kinds of upsets early so far.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 Jesus Christ. I didn't read the details, but I assume the car he hit was moving (and not stopped)? He's done and lucky to be alive himself - although he's going to jail, probably (hopefully?) for a long time. Yeah, both cars were rear ended. You watching this game, coming up?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 Wow... big upset, nevermind spreads.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 Let's get Josh Allen on the Manningcast, he's facing the Jags next week and surely that will.break the curse. So embarrassing. What an awful game to watch, from the horrible officiating to the joke of an OLine to Allen making terrible choices. Can't lose a game like this and still think you're superbowl bound

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 Crosby ain't so solid this year. Yes, Pack! Well then.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted November 7, 2021 Posted November 7, 2021 It's just one game. But... agreed. Nah, it's not just one game. Losing to the Pats, Saints, Colts, that can be "oh it's just one game" but this was a team that just broke a 20 game losing streak. Worst pass defense in the league. Zero TDs, 6 points.
