Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 22, 2020 Posted December 22, 2020 Guess I’d have to look again. Pit sux anyway lol... Bills for me in the AFC.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2020 Posted December 27, 2020 Raiders blew that game Bigly!

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 I don’t watch many Bills games but they’re fun to watch tonight. Playing loose

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted December 29, 2020 Posted December 29, 2020 I honestly thought they were going to go for that 4th and 1. I would’ve been a loyal Bills fan at that point
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 4, 2021 Posted January 4, 2021 This second half is some of the saddest football I’ve watched in a long time
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 5, 2021 Posted January 5, 2021 This second half is some of the saddest football I’ve watched in a long time Your Luke Warm Football team is in, bro? They'll get killed now, it's okay bud.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 5, 2021 Posted January 5, 2021 Your Luke Warm Football team is in, bro? They'll get killed now, it's okay bud. Actually I’m rooting for Tampa in the NFC and they happen to be playing the Dreadskins. Tampa’s defense has looked really bad at points, so I don’t really think they’ll get out of NFC. In AFC think I’ll root Bills. KC may be a bit more fun to watch on offense but Mahomes already won his, so Bills the better story
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 5, 2021 Posted January 5, 2021 Not that I’m going but I wonder what Bills playoff tickets cost on the secondary market. I saw they’re letting in 7k ppl

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted January 5, 2021 Posted January 5, 2021 This whole Philly situation is hilarious. "Two defensive players had to be held back from approaching Pederson after the QB change. Hurts was reportedly distraught about the decision to yank him in favor of Nate Sudfeld with the team trialing Washington by three points. The Eagles lost 20-14. Pederson defended the decision to bench Hurts so Sudfeld could get some playing time in a meaningless Week 17 game. He revised his reasoning the following day and rambled about offensive struggled with Hurts under center. Miles Sanders expressed frustration with Pederson's decision in a Tuesday interview. "If I'm being honest, nobody liked the decision. Nobody," he said. Having alienated his players at the tail end of a disastrous season, it's reasonable to question whether the team can bring Pederson back in 2021. Unless, of course, Pederson was told to lose the game. The Eagles have the sixth pick in the 2021 NFL draft; they would've had the ninth pick if they had beaten Washington." Players are f***ing stupid. I know they are wired to 'win' and play hard and whatever, but they have to acknowledge that losing that game and moving up from 9th to 6th is potentially huge for the franchise. They should be able to acknowledge that enough to keep their emotions in check. Pederson benched a QB who was 7-20 for 73 yards and an INT in a game that didn't matter one bit to them. I'd love to see Nate Sudfeld issue a statement that his whiney ass **** teammates can suck his fat cock for showing absolutely no faith in him. Point out all the s***** games they had and all the mistakes they made throughout this horrendous year and remind them that nobody publicly shamed them it. f*** the Giants - if they wanted in, win more than 6 games or STFU. Teams can play whoever the f*** they want at any point to 'see what they've got'.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted January 5, 2021 Posted January 5, 2021 Packers win the NFC... Boom! Bills v. Pack Super Bowl would be unreal.

Teams can play whoever the f*** they want at any point to 'see what they've got'. I’m not going to say you’re wrong about anything but there’s usually 2 sides to a coin. Why would you bench the guy that usurped the franchise QB? He wasn’t having a good game, sure, but he was coming off a nice stretch of games and why not let him try to win the game and finish on a high note? Sudfeld was a joke. It was like giving Rudy some reps. I don’t think it’s fair to expect players to lose on purpose. As a Coach or the office I can understand playing to lose but I don’t think you can ever expect a player to respect that. It’s a business and a lot of these guys are playing for a job in the league. Teams certainly don’t have loyalty to players (especially in NFL) to the level where a player should toss a game for the team
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 5, 2021 Posted January 5, 2021 Personally, as a Philly fan I’d rather have left Jalen in to see how he finished it. Nobody wants to see Bo or Vlad benched at the end of a season to see what some less than org guy can do. Obviously it’s not apples to apples as the season is 162 to 16 but just generally speaking
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 5, 2021 Posted January 5, 2021 If Jalen comes back and wins that game as a hero, I’m not sure that’s not more valuable going into next year vs jumping 3 spots. Considering everything going on with qb, Coach, team situation

Nobody wants to see Bo or Vlad benched at the end of a season to see what some less than org guy can do. Obviously it’s not apples to apples as the season is 162 to 16 but just generally speaking Call me crazy, but Hurts leading the team to a win over the s*** ass Redskins doesn't have any impact on the 2021-22 Eagles season. It's essentially irrelevant. The people on the field always have the choice to play to win and nobody is suggesting they shouldn't. I just think it's such a slap in the face to their teammate. They could have rallied around Sudfeld knowing he's fighting for a job next year too - knowing this might be his chance to prove he can be a backup QB in the league. Knowing that if he succeeds, it's a great moment for him and if he fails, as least an effort was made and the team will get a much better draft pick next year. End of story. This type of s*** happens all the time in other sports (especially baseball). Carolina played Phillip Walker in a meaningless game - nobody gave a s*** and I'm sure if you looked, there were many players in other positions getting a 'shot' to prove what they had in the final game (but nobody cares or notices because they aren't QB's). Then you had teams resting players. Do players on those teams hate it because the coach isn't putting them in a position to win that game? How's Miami feel that Pittsburgh rested started, playing both Rudolph and Dobbs? There's the cries for the lost integrity of the game there? They basically gift wrapped that game to Cleveland to grant them a playoff birth. Do "good" teams earn the right to throw the last game of the year, but s***** teams looking to rebuild their franchise can't?
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 5, 2021 Posted January 5, 2021 To me, considering you had a really bad QB situation already, you put gas on the flame by pulling Jalen. Is he your QB or is it Wentz? That ending did not help the situation. If you want them to back Sudfeld that also means they can’t have Jalen’s back and be upset that he got pulled. Can’t have it both ways. You already had locker room division from people that thought Wentz should be the guy. To me it was a giant clusterf*** of a situation and reports are confirming some of that. I’m not dismissing what you’re saying but just in that time and place I do it different

I’m not dismissing what you’re saying but just in that time and place I do it different That's fair and the Wentz situation complicates the situation. If Wentz isn't the equation, you can't simply reinforce that Jalen is your guy, but the staff wanted to see what Sudfeld had to see if they needed to address the backup QB position this offseason. I don't think anyone should or would be butt hurt about that. I fully expect that's the situation and they'll trade Wentz before or during the draft. Wentz was f***ing horrendous this year. The fact there was anyone in their locker room still backing Wentz speaks volumes to the stupidity of players in the NFL. It really makes the entire discussion about the players reaction pointless and I'm sorry I even brought it up. My bad.

Teams can play whoever the f*** they want at any point to 'see what they've got'. I agree with most of this, except for the part about the players. In the NFL, unless you're a stud like Josh Allen or Mahomes, there isn't a lot of job security or guaranteed money. Players do not and should not care about where the Eagles pick because by the time that player is making an impact (assuming they ever do) it's likely most of the guys on the current team are gone. Players don't play to lose, even in a meaningless year because you're always thinking about the next contract, and for most, careers in the NFL are very short. But yeah, I would be very annoyed if I was a fan of the Giants but...THEY could have beaten the Eagles and none of this would be an issue. I'd rather watch the resurrection of Alex Smith continue into the playoffs anyway, and with WFT's very good pass rush and it being past Brady's bed time, I think the Football Team has a solid shot at an upset. They were rolling until Smith got hurt.
