theblujay Verified Member Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 I can't believe I actually want Blanco back right now
berenjenareturns Verified Member Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 What did I saw wrong? They're old and washed up and I was saying that this team would be unstoppable back in the mid '00s I'm not sure that "washed up" it's a good way to describe them. Jeter led the MLB in hits last year. A-Rod put up a higher OPS than Lawrie on his worst MLB season yet. Soriano was recently acquired and has been amazing for us. Granderson is 32...hardly old...(same age as Bautista) and was putting up MVP numbers just 2 years ago. Pettite is doing fine for a #4 starter. Teixeira has been declining but still better than most MLB first basemen. Wells it's a bench player that was being over used because of some key injuries. Ichiro is washed up, but he will be in the bench by next year. Still provides solid defense.

Sounds like a bunch of wash ups to me, all I read was the words "was" and "just a few years ago", or bench That being said, they are better than the jays lol
berenjenareturns Verified Member Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Romine seeing the ball well the last couple of games.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 I'm not sure that "washed up" it's a good way to describe them. Oh jesus, you're on this board, too?
berenjenareturns Verified Member Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 So you don't read the sentences? Yes I can say 'bench'...because you would too if I mentioned guys like DeRosa to describe the Jays? would that be fair? Pettite is gone by next year. Teixeira still fairly young and productive. A-Rod was....but still an above average player now. Jeter led the MLB in hits last year before the Injuries...just last year.
berenjenareturns Verified Member Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 What you mean "too"? I haven't visit the old board since you guys left.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Hmmm, so THAT's what it's like to actually have someone who can turn the dp. I kind of doubt Goins will keep the bat going, but I love him in the field.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2013 Author Posted August 26, 2013 Anyone else worried about Goins pulling a Thames/JPA and "winning" the 2B job next year? Better than kawasaki
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2013 Posted August 26, 2013 Anyone else worried about Goins pulling a Thames/JPA and "winning" the 2B job next year? I don't mind if we address pitching and catcher. Between him, Kawasaki, and Izzy someone is bound to take it and run (or at least not suck)
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 I disagree with this, lol. Well, Kawasaki and Goins at least appear to be capable of putting up positive WAR just on their defense alone, which is a big improvement over what we've seen with Izzy and Boni most of the year.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Anyone else worried about Goins pulling a Thames/JPA and "winning" the 2B job next year? He'll be better than Izturis and Bonifacio have been. So I'm not *worried*. If we upgrade LF, C, SP, and leave 2B as a hole, I can live with that.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Its amazing how he's terrible at everything. When your one tool is a strong OF arm you can f*** right off. HardThrower RP
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Sierra almost looked like he lobbed that ball, and it was a bullet.

digiblader Verified Member Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Hughes is collapsing again.. no wonder he's 4-12.
CHRIS Verified Member Posted August 27, 2013 Posted August 27, 2013 Anyone else worried about Goins pulling a Thames/JPA and "winning" the 2B job next year? He's done nothing to lose the job. The key for him is to start the last game if the season. #SquattersRights
