TORONTO — The Toronto Blue Jays have made no final decision on moving their spring training home from Dunedin, team president Paul Beeston told the Tampa Bay Times on Friday, but he said the chance to join the Houston Astros in a proposed new facility in Palm Beach Gardens was the "perfect situation."

Since their 1977 inception, the Jays have trained in Dunedin at what are considered less-than-ideal facilities. Beeston said the Jays plan to honor their current deal, which expires in 2017, but felt "it may be time to look around and see if there's a better facility we're able to pull together."

The Astros, who train in Kissimmee, presented that opportunity, and the Jays are interested.

I'd love this

Much more likely to make some March ST games if they're over on the east coast

So Luhnow will get to see the jays up close and decide what players he wants. Great strategy.

You'd love to have your own place but at the same time, their facilities are a lot better than what we have now so go for it. If they share a place it might be cheaper as well. Anything that will help the club from Day 1 I'd support.
