JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 So, 5 games under 0.500 through 95 games. I would have preferred the start of a wining streak instead of a losing one for the short second half. It is becoming harder to cheer for them witnessing our Jays stacked with unprofessional clowns.
GNick Verified Member Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Not really. Four consecutive seasons before this with a negative DRS and UZR, including -29 DRS over the last two seasons. He's somewhere between below-average and terrible. We'll probably have to move him to 2B well before his contract expires. Does this mean Lawrie is going back to 2b?
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 You don't see our pen lose many games like this, tough loss. As for the comments on Lawrie, give me a break?! He was rushed back from injury with virtually no ST, even AA admitted to this error. He'll be fine going forward. Heck he went yard and stung one the opposite way, just was right at the second basemen. We're starting to get into some pretty heavy sample sizes here. When he first came up he rarely chased junk outside of the zone... now he's chasing at an increasingly worrying rate. Contact rates are down. LD% is down. Strikeouts are way up, walks are way down. Looking more and more like Kevin Kouzmanoff than Evan Longoria. There is nothing at all in the recent future that should give anyone ANY optimism with Lawrie going forward. His attitude is also atrocious and he displayed a disgusting lack of baseball intelligence. Eventually it might get to a point where we have to consider dealing him. He's too much of an egomaniac to keep around as a backup INF.

ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 So who misses the AS break? On the other hand, I can get on board with tanking for a pick in the next 2 months.

I asked because 11 game win streak ended when he came back and we had bad start to season before he was injured.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
