It's a good thing Bautista and Encarnacion weren't in this, they would have just tired themselves out / f***ed up their swing and definitely not beat this guy tonight.

I don't really get why it matters if Jose/EE are in the derby, team is not in contention anyway... at least give the fans something. Poor upper management and PR IMO.

I picked Cespedes for Derby, AA hire me for scout now

I picked him too!

Plus I was all over AA's case for not signing Cespedes on the old board

Don't know if thread worthy, I will listen after the derby is over

Says any rumours about the Jays involved in trade talks for any starter is a "complete fabrication" but that's not to say they wouldn't be open to the right deal if it came along the next week.

Does see depth in the pen and would be open minded to trading a reliever.

Expects starting pitching to be better after the break.

On Romero, the start last night was the most encouraging since he was able to go eight innings and only throw 93 pitches, needs to see that over and over again first, it's a step in the right direction. Must put "many" of those starts in a row first before he would be back in the conversation. Thinks he is in a better frame of mind now.

On Bickford, he was pretty evasive. Says it was not cut and dried, they did all their due diligence on whether or not they thought he wanted to go pro, can't divulge info, trying to protect everyone involved, it just didn't work out. Wouldn't be surprised to see him as a top pick again in a few years. Likened the situation to Beede and how that missed signing turned into Marcus Stroman, so the Jays didn't actually lose an asset. Also mentioned that Stroman is pitching well and has been talked about as a call up candidate.

No thoughts on moving Jose Bautista to 3b even though he feels Jose would do it if asked.

We'd be complaining about Cespedes too..he's only hitting .225, although he has 15 HR and 43 RBIs.

Stats sound like Arincibia.

You're just the anti-angrioter, prefer Cubans over Dominicans.

Looks like he's about due for a BABIP regression, though his LD rate and GB rate are down. Not like you understand anyway.

So I missed the derby, I'm assuming there was a lot of this:

BACK BACK BACK BACK BACK BACK GOONE!

Actually not lol. Good job by people around Berman to keep throwing people to interview at him. So it was basically audio of on-field interview and video of Cespedes hitting beauties

Cespedes was such a good signing for Beane. It was more than a little bit risky and the contract isn't A's level cheap but what a great addition he was.

Actually I just looked up his numbers - he's really gone down hill compared to last year. Presumably his real ability is somewhere between his 2012 and 2013 numbers.

Difficult to string together good numbers in Oakland unless you're on steroids. Reddick when from emerging star to nothing pretty fast. He really needs to shave.
