TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 being such an exact amount I'm guessing that they know exactly what they need for Bickford.

ace3113 Verified Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 This is great news. If we can get Bickford for 2.5 like Ball got, that gives us another 400k. Tellez or Brentz please. Preferably Tellez.
ace3113 Verified Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 So far saved $1,305,020 with 3 more Senior signs to go.

TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 I never would have thought they'd get him for this little, this was a massive move by the Jays. Makes the entire draft look a lot better.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 saving money is great but did none of this show up in his initial medical reports? This is why pre-draft medicals were put in.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Was that the Tercet we know?? hahahaha!

Exactly, if Bickford signs great, but if not next years MLB draft is loaded like this years NHL draft. I want Tyler Kolek, personally.

There was already rumors he might have some arm issues. I think that was part of drafting him (like with Murphy). The expectation had to have been he would take a discount. Now put him on the Delabar program. He was the top rated high school pitcher coming into the year.

ace3113 Verified Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 I don't know much about the situation but from what I've heard next year's draft is about average. Much better than the past two years' drafts (which were both quite thin), but it's not a 2005 or 2011 type of class. I've been working on writeups for next years draft for almost a month-and-a-half now and it's loaded. There are power arms that stretch all the way to 40. There's more depth of good college hitters. And 3 guys with a legit shot at #1 in any given year (Rodon, Jackson, Beede). It has it's weaknesses and strengths like any draft, but there's big time depth. Just look at the top 10: Rodon, Beede, Jackson, Turner, Cederoth, Gatewood, Toussaint, Gordon, Kolek, Gettys.
flafson Verified Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 AA always seem to find a way to cheat the system, gotta give him that. Let's hope we can sign those other guys.
flafson Verified Member Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 What's the point from his point of view to turn down a first round pick? He thinks we will be able to get more money than last time he was drafted?
