kcjaysfan Verified Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 I still can't believe we gave 5 starts to this shitbag. That doesn't even seem real. Two of those starts were pretty good.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 I still can't believe we gave 5 starts to this shitbag. That doesn't even seem real. I can't believe Gibby left him in long enough to give up 6 runs today
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 9 man pen lol this f***ing team Just for this series
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 So Reyes comes back and 3 regulars get injured, gotta love this team's luck.
kcjaysfan Verified Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Official wasted starts counter: Wang = 5 Ortiz = 4 Jenkins = 3 Romero = 2 Nolin =1 Laffey = 1 16 in 83 games, for 19% of the schedule. Not bad. What is a wasted start?
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 I can't believe Gibby left him in long enough to give up 6 runs today Gibby only had Perez warming when Miggy was due up in the second, and we all know there was no way he'd allow a lefty to face Miggy.

Not bad. And amazingly, not all of them have been stinkers. Some pretty decent starts in those 16.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Man, this is shocking. He was the ERA leader in AAA!! One of my 80 year old scouts told me he'd found the fountain of youth.

Not bad. Don't hate on Jenkins! 3 starts of identical 5 innings/2Ks/2 ER. 6 ER in 15 innings isn't a waste, not compared to the other shitbags
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Jays recall Todd Redmond He's not too bad, did a nice job in his very brief appearance
kcjaysfan Verified Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 My very unofficial criteria was: starts given to obvious replacement-level trash. Regardless of the outcome of the start?
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Bluejays recall Todd Redmond lol f***kkkkkkkkkkk
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Redmond is likely only up for a day or two, maybe 3 to eat some innings in the pen if needed since almost everyone pitched. I can't imagine him sticking around for too long.
kcjaysfan Verified Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Nine man pen. This is too funny. I wonder if Gibby is asking AA where the hell his bench is. http://i.thestar.com/images/54/37/d64bc1ed43f2801cfb3f4d4ed9ea.jpg

Jenkins was a lucky bastard, he deserve be in that list.

Too bad he's on the DL down in AAA or he might get a start or two. He wasn't horrible up in the bigs. Too bad he's on the DL in AAA or maybe he'd get a few starts in place of Wang.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Do you stole the crack cocaine to your teacher at school? Jenkins was a lucky bastard, he deserve be in that list. How? The dude's BABIP was over average (.327) and his FIP had him at a decent 4.17 He did well in his 3 starts here
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 I don't remember any of his relief appearances, but the stats say otherwise yikes I thought he did well, my bad

(Many balls catched in the wall, Rasmus saved his ass) He's like Ortiz but younger.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 ZiPS ROS projection: 6.34 ERA. Jenkins is a shitbag. Hey, I said that his 3 starts were not waste! I didn't say "let's keep giving him chances!"
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Hey, I said that his 3 starts were not waste! I didn't say "let's keep giving him chances!" It seems to me this is what happened with Wang, it was just a matter of time. It's better to run while ahead baby! Remember in ST when people would say how great it was that Happ, who was pitching so well, was the odd man out? Anyway, such is life.
BabbaGanoush Verified Member Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 -0.3 fWAR combined before today's debacle. Hey ill take a lucky s***** pitcher over a unlucky good pitcher. (for one or two starts) Its all about the team wins when you run out replacement guys. You know that they are not even medium term solutions. You just hope that they get lucky and squeek out a few 5 inn 2 run game. The jays got lucky and got enough of those.

Remember in ST when people would say how great it was that Happ, who was pitching so well, was the odd man out? Anyway, such is life. But it didn't! An injury prevented a Jenkins blowout, which means the 3 starts of 2 run ball each was not a waste. He won us three games with some luck, and got injured before the fat AA kept him going!
