43211234 Verified Member Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 Kawhi's media scrums are so amazing. Every answer begins "Like I said..." It's also amazing how little knowledge sports reporters have. Just an endless barrage of inanities like "how was the mindset coming out of the half?" "how will you be able to keep calm for game 5?" Finally a basketball question is asked at 6:00 and he gives an answer. Maybe they should try asking those more often? He gets called a robot but he is actually more human and genuine than almost everyone else. He is considered a bit of a freak just because he doesn't want to participate in the freakshow of celebrity and of social media.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 There's a certain level of disgust that emanates from his very core when asked a dumb question, and it's just so incredibly satisfying to watch him remain calm, cool, and composed in those moments.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 8, 2019 Posted June 8, 2019 So for the sake of this exercise, I'm going to assume that Kawhi re-signs (not resigns) in Toronto because that's looking like the most likely outcome at this point. Kawhi is going to want a say in bringing in personnel. Who do you target to supplement him and how do you make it happen?

The only option, other than keeping the main core intact, is to get a value vet looking for a ring with the mid-level exception. If Kawhi re-signs there’s really no need to make sweeping changes.

I think Siakam is probably going to take another step forward to become a legit star but the narrative coming out of this is undoubtedly going to be about how the Raptors were lucky that GS was so injured. Kawhi might say, "I'll extend but you need to grab a solid complimentary player." Who would that player be and what would you give up?

My son just turned 16 and has his first serious gf that he’s head-over-heels for. Probably can’t imagine his life without her. I’m a realist but support it, just hope he’s not crushed when it ends and he realizes his head wasn’t in the real world.

Everyone who is in the media is speculating that Kawhi stays in Toronto on a short term deal. It's not just crazy Raptor fans.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 Breaking News from Yahoo, whether he plays remains to be seen... https://sports.yahoo.com/kevin-durant-practicing-with-warriors-ahead-of-game-5-172929277.html
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 At this point he’s got nothing to lose. If he comes back and they win the next 3 it’ll be his legend...and if they lose, it’s because they needed him sooner

If he comes back and they win the next 3 it’ll be his legend...and if they lose, it’s because they needed him sooner There is very little chance IMO that it's his calf. Dude has an achilles strain so he absolutely has something to lose if he tries to play and ruptures it. Look at the video of the injury and him walking immediately after. Look at where he has been icing it. It looks like an achilles thing for sure to me.

Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 Anyone want to buy a water cooler for $50? It's stainless steel and cost me $300 to buy but hundreds of ants crawled inside so I am selling cheap. They are mostly gone now.
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 Should have sold it to Boxy while it was still infested with ants.

Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 Let St. Louis be a lesson for Toronto. Finish them!!!! “Shits pants”
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 Let St. Louis be a lesson for Toronto. Finish them!!!! “Shits pants” They need look no further than the Leafs having a 3-2 series lead against Boston and not closing.

I don't think the leaves should be an example of anything. NHL is different, every team is essentially as good as any other. That's what makes it so boring and s*****.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 IF Durant is coming back at all then tonight will likely be their best chance to win one of the next three games. Home court, Durant likely out or his most hobbled, Thompson maybe still nursing his injury, Looney hurt, Cousins at his most fattest.

Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 They need look no further than the Leafs having a 3-2 series lead against Boston and not closing. They mistakenly printed Stanley Cup congrats in the St. Louis papers and were literally planning the parade, as were some posters here before the game or before they had won 4 games. We looked like s*** and over-matched against the Bucks first two games then won 4 straight. I know we have won three and also in their place. However, these guys are still the Champs, they have come back against 3-1 before. If you just break it down to one game at a time.. Win one on the road, win one at home, then before you know it a game 7.. It does not look so insurmountable. The Raptors need to win TONIGHT. No going down that road.... "Shits pants" "Bites off fingernails.."
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2019 Posted June 10, 2019 Durant's playing tonight. Durant, the hobblin' hoo-er. The championship will be easy to win.
