Philly doing a fantastic job of tanking right now. They've lost 22 straight games (although they still aren't in last place). Man does the NBA need to fix things so that teams have no incentive to blatantly lose.

Have you seen the proposal for the wheel?

Pretty interesting and a really good read from the best writer in the NBA world.

I like the concept of the wheel. The only addition I'd make is a fixed age at which prospects enter the prospect, or maybe something based on their education (when their program ends, maybe). That way, no one could time their declaration to go to a big market.

It is a good read. I'm not sure what I think about the wheel though. I kind of wonder if perhaps all non-playoff teams should get equal chance at receiving the top picks. Maybe put in a slight modifier for each year they finish out of the playoffs but don't get a top 5 pick, and the modifier goes back to zero when they do or something to help combat really bad luck.

The issue I have with setting an age restriction, if you look at this draft and take out all the freshmen...it goes from being a really good draft to absolutely dreadful

How would a draft with the top non-playoff teams getting the highest picks work out? So, as opposed to the worst team having the best chance at the first pick, it's instead the 9th place team in a conference. It would certainly eliminate tanking by the front offices. But I guess an argument can be made that some teams would be in perpetual failure. What do you guys think?

Perpetual failure is definitely a valid argument, because there are teams who aren't really tanking...they just suck (Kings, Bucks, Jazz etc)

I have no problem with tanking, especially when the NBA game itself all it takes is 1 truly dominant player to instantly turn a franchise around. Yes you still need to supplement the rest of the team with decent players, but 1 player makes an incredible difference right from the get go.

Incredible effort from the Raps tonight. Cheers to them.

Amir, Demar, Vazquez, Hans and Lowry 2nd half!

Very entertaining game.
