They are exactly where Ujiri said they would not be... no man's land. His "wait and see" approach has blown up in his face, could of just kept Colangelo for that.

I wouldn't say that. He could still dismantle the team with a couple of trades involving Lowry and DeRozan, and still realistically finish in the bottom ten. Since the trade rumors involving Lowry, his play has actually warranted the first round pick Ujiri was looking for in the first place as well.

Nope, they've already won too many games. This is 2006-2007 all over again.

So there's been a lot of talk about Vince Carter and whether Raptors fans should forgive him and move on with Dallas coming into town tomorrow. I remember hating the guy prior to and after the trade, but at this point I don't really care all that much. It's time to move on, and it's probably best to honor him after he retires just because he was the organization's first, and probably only legitimate superstar. Plus, if the stories of Babcock are true, all of this drama could have been avoided. Vince shouldn't have to shoulder all of the blame when the front office was also at fault.

Man JV is playing like a huge bitch. He's getting destroyed out there lately.

Well he chose to spend the Summer rotting on the Lithuania bench rather than attend a big man's camp and bulk up. He's been a huge disappointment the entire year

He's playing SO SOFT. Omg his vertical is like 10 inches

2 things:

He put on a good bit of weight over the summer that seems to be slowing him down big time.

He's been playing ball almost nonstop since the middle of the summer with the Summer League and then Euro team. He's might be tiring out.

Possible.

Hopefully he develops into something. We're going to need some pieces to complement Kevin Durant in 2016.

Lol durants not coming to toronto

1. Dreamed of playing for Toronto when he was a kid

2. Super tight with Drake

3. We'll have a s*** ton of cap space by then

It's going to happen.

1. Just because VC was his favorite player doesn't mean he's going to actually want to play for Toronto.

2. No FA goes and plays for a team just because a celebrity is associated with the franchise. If it is a reason, it would be at the bottom of the list.

3. Yeah, so will a lot of other teams. It's not like they can offer more money than everyone else.

The only way he comes to Toronto is if it's the best place for him to win a title. That means the raptors will need to already have a superstar along with a solid roster to attract him.

My opinion is like a halfway point between both of yours. I don't think we need to be the /best/ place for him to win a title. But I think, all things considered, if we have a strong roster that would be put over the top by him, I think he'd come here because of the supporting factors over maybe a slightly better team.

But we gotta get a strong roster first. And have the cap space to sign him.

Ultimately, Durant is going to want to join another superstar. And since the Raptors decided to treadmill instead of tanking for one, there is no chance Durant will be a Raptor in 2016.

Seriously, the raptors haven't attracted any star FA, let alone a superstar, EVER. The raptors are an irrelevant franchise, in a cold city, and are in another country.

Durant is not coming here, or any other superstar for that matter.

Cap space won't be an issue.

Best case scenario over the next two years: We make it to at least the 2nd round in both years, JV turns into a beast, and the Knicks TANK next year (we have their first rounder from the Bargs trade). Also hitting a homer in this years draft wouldn't hurt (might be some talent in the 15-20 range, never know).

This is not 2010. Things are changing for this franchise. Leiweke is well respected around the league and do not underestimate the importance of Drake. Guy knows everyone in the NBA. The ASG in 2016 is going to be a wonderful showcase for Toronto. Most of the players love this city too. Freaking Lebron always flies up here and hosts parties at different nightclubs in the city. He doesn't do that in many other places. Drake can attract every single superstar in the hip hop game to OVO Fest during Caribana. There is no reason to think his influence is only limited to hip hop. He's a fantastic salesman.

This is exactly the defeatist attitude that we need to eliminate.

That;s the kind of thing we have to wait to happen before we could start assuming things. We haven't had a single big ticket free agent come to Toronto over another big market detestation ever
