Also note that the Astros are playing much better since June started. FYI: Astros vs.: EAST Boston 0-4 NYY 1-2 O's 1-2 Rays (Not yet) Jays (Not yet) CENTRAL White Sox 3-1 (wow, the White Sox stink!) Detroit 1-6 KC 2-4 Cleveland 1-2 Minnesota (not yet) WEST Oakland 0-9(only reason Texas hasn't run away with the division--Oakland's a .500 team otherwise) Texas 1-5 (no surprise here) Seattle 5-4 LA Angels 7-3 (WTF? All that money and they can't beat the stinking Astros?) Based on the numbers, the real benefactors of Houston in the AL are: Oakland Texas Detroit Boston We'll see what the Jays and Rays do against the Astros in the next month.
Wilnercibia Verified Member Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 We should sweep them every series
JugglingPitches Verified Member Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 I think we have 8 games against Houston? Going 7-1 would be a real boost. I just hope the Jays don't look at it as an easy part of the schedule and try to coast and take it for granted that they're going to win. The Astros may suck but they're still a major league team capable of winning if teams look past them.

If you start to trail the Astros in game one, I think you start to re-focus pretty quickly.
digiblader Verified Member Posted June 25, 2013 Author Posted June 25, 2013 I mean, look at that awful roster in Houston! By the time we face them, Lawrie and Reyes will be back. And Bud Norris will be elsewhere.
blackjays21 Verified Member Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Jordan Lyles is pretty good though. Hopefully we don't have to see him, that would be very bad. I look forward to it.. I would like to see Jordan Lyles.
JohnnyLonghorn Verified Member Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Hilarious that the Angels have been owned by the Astros this year. I'm sure they graciously accepted Houston in their division at first but it has backfired completely, especially since the As and Rangers have ran through them, as expected.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Astros xFIP this year 4.42, Jays xFIP this year 4.36. some other numbers K/9 Astros 6.78, Jays 6.88, BB/9 Astros 3.49, Jays 3.41 GB% Astros 44.7, Jays 43.5 HR/9 Astros 1.29, Jays 1.23 When you just do starters the Astros are ahead of the Jays in every single one of those categories except for BB/9 where the Stros are 3.45 to the Jays 3.42. I know someone will say that the Jays won't be running out Ortiz, Jenkins or Romero's which bring down our numbers, however the Astros now won't be running out Humber or Peacock who kill their peripherals too. Essentially the Astros starting pitching which you guys are making fun of...is equal to or better than the Jays starting pitching to date.

KSaw Verified Member Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 6-1 would be great. 5-2 acceptable. A sweep is possible. 4-3 or worse would be a failure.
baseballsss Verified Member Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Has anyone else noticed everytime people on this forum say..o we should kill this starter this starter sucks blah blah blah they end up owning us. Even when we have a random pitcher going thats suppose to suck he ends up pitching better then half the otheer SP that play. All in all you guys really suck at predicting s***.

If they could ever get football money bet on to baseball, sportsbooks would be Mayweather rich
