Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 I just read that Lawrie will begin a rehab assignment on Wednesday in Dunedin. http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/blue-jays-to-activate-reyes-for-wednesday/ Any guesses on when he'll be back? 2 Weeks? Maybe less? Maybe more? How long was Reyes on his rehab assignment for?

Maybe less? Maybe more? How long was Reyes on his rehab assignment for? I'd guess 2 weeks if not more. Reyes' rehab started last Monday in Dunedin so by Wednesday it'll have been 10 days or so. I think they'll take their time with Lawrie since they rushed him the first time.
LightsOut Verified Member Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 I'll guess 3 weeks, first time we'll have a full lineup! (hopefully)
flafson Verified Member Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Reyes was suppose to be for 2 weeks and that would end on Thursday i think, so little less than 2 weeks.
Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted June 25, 2013 Author Posted June 25, 2013 I think itll be less time than Reyes ... Reyes injury was alot worse
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 I think itll be less time than Reyes ... Reyes injury was alot worse I think it'll be at least 2 weeks because Lawrie was struggling before getting injured and he probably needs a lot more AB's.
Ziggyy108 Verified Member Posted June 25, 2013 Author Posted June 25, 2013 You guys actually want him back Absolutely. Lawrie is a very talented ball player. Future all star. He struggled for a month and a bit, you gonna give up on him cuz of that?
The_DH Verified Member Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 What are the odds he gets optioned after?
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 What are the odds he gets optioned after? probably pretty low...if he hits absolutely nothing in the minors than maybe. I think they'll use close to the full 20 days after his rehab starts.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Absolutely. Lawrie is a very talented ball player. Future all star. He struggled for a month and a bit, you gonna give up on him cuz of that? it's longer than that though, he's really struggled since the end of June last season. He's got a career .243/.299/.382 line away from the Rogers Centre (still only 422 PA's though) and when he was in the line up this season his contact rates had the worst drop in the majors. There are concerns with him moving forward, at first it looked like the good defense was a good and surprising bonus. Now it's looking more and more like he'll need the D to keep his value.
KSaw Verified Member Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 The timing would have him back to start the home stand after the all star break. Have to admit that I figured he'd be gone at least 2 weeks longer.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 What are the odds he gets optioned after? Zero or Bautista would have been optioned or DFA a long time ago.

Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 You're this dumb, ie: trolling, 101 play dumb. You have no common sense or baseball knowledge do you...

I think they'll take their time with Lawrie since they rushed him the first time. It also just totally depends on how he looks and feels
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Also curious if he'll be playing second or third base during this rehab stint. Jeff Blair continues to insist that "people within the organization" think he's going to moved to 2B sooner rather than later.
Metallijay Verified Member Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 You guys actually want him back why not? His defense alone is way better then what we have, his hitting will come around.,
Metallijay Verified Member Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Zero or Bautista would have been optioned or DFA a long time ago. lol, no one even takes you seriously.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 No I'm going to give up on him because of his character Zero or Bautista would have been optioned or DFA a long time ago. lmao, I want to put both of these in my signature, they're just too good
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 My bold prediction: AA acquires Justin Morneau at the trade deadline Prior to this he has EE moved permanently to 3B and Lawrie to 2B

TEam is very inconsistent offensively.

dmrich28 Verified Member Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 My bold prediction: AA acquires Justin Morneau at the trade deadline Prior to this he has EE moved permanently to 3B and Lawrie to 2B I agree with you most of the time but I really don't want to see a Lawrie experiment at 2B in July when the team has fought back into contention. I think ya have to keep Lawrie at 3B where he's most comfortable and proven, having EE there would be a big downgrade (even though he has played surprisingly well there so far). It's something that will probably happen at some point, but I just don't think now is the time to mess around. We'll see what happens though.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Lawrie 1-2 last night in Dunedin with an RBI And played 3rd base

I think you're right actually If we were totally out of contention you might do this. But not right now. Next spring training more likely unless a top 2B is obtained. Kawasaki should be our utility guy next year DeRosa won't be back of course. And Bonifacio should be dealt.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 My bold prediction: AA acquires Justin Morneau at the trade deadline Prior to this he has EE moved permanently to 3B and Lawrie to 2B I would absolutely love it if EE could play a decent third, but he's shown before that over the long haul he just can't. I'm not saying he couldn't turn a corner, but old dog; new tricks.
