I don't like the idea of a LOOGY closer, honestly, but a closer platoon of Squints/Santos or whatever wouldn't be bad if we got good value for Casey.

He's a very versatile pitcher, could be long man, LOOGY, spot starter, closer.... and that's more valuable then being a closer alone

Might be more effective to do so at the deadline, provided the return gave us more immediate and future value than it subtracted. He'd have an extra 1/2 year on the contract, and a few teams that look desperate for relief help (like the Tigers).
