Josh Johnson always pitches better in the second half of the season. Would be a stupid time to drop him. Once he gets on a roll he generally stays on a roll. If hes healthy.

 

IF? He might have a pimple next game...guy can never seem to be healthy. Been the biggest disappointment this season IMO. Has electric stuff, but can't stay healthy or put it together. Frustrating because if he does this team would be a lot better.

Hes quietly been the hottest hitter on the team outside of Lind during the road trip.

 

He's also been a bit unlucky. I've seen him hit line drives right at people. Even in this game he hit a hard gb right at the 1b who threw out JPA at third. Not saying he's a great hitter, but he's shown some signs. Bonifacio on the other hand....

Good, but not fantastic. Anyway, I don't think the splits matter at all in this case. As you say, he's usually good when healthy.

Sadly it's been the big name pitchers who have let us down all year. Dickey, johnson morrow is they were even close to their norms we would be above .500 and in the hunt.
