JFD Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 ..and under no circumstances let him try to explain away anything.... just don't swear so he can't bump you off the line.. but I would LOVE to hear him squirm tonight trying to explain this gong show! the best response you can hope for from that goof is "there is lots of baseball to play and this team is good enough to get on a roll, the just haven't found their stride yet.. blah blah"
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 If we're gonna lose, hopefully we can at least run Reed's pitch count up a little.

DH12 Verified Member Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Yup, 8-gamer is imminent. Parting the Red Sea would be easier than this team going on any 8 game winning streak
pewpewpewjays Verified Member Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 all this s*** show against the mightly struggling white sox. .....

JFD Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 y'all need to relax.. they only need a 20 game win streak and boom a whopping 10 games over .500
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 If we're gonna lose, hopefully we can at least run Reed's pitch count up a little. Or maybe we can just watch fastballs straight down the pipe.
DH12 Verified Member Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Rasmus has played alot better lately but that AB really sums up this team this season. It almost always feels like the other team is outsmarting us. That epically bad at bat by Rasmus tarnishes a lot of his good work of late
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 right down the plate and he just stands there and looks at it......i dont understand it

It almost always feels like the other team is outsmarting us. That at bat was like the JPA AB against Rodney. Bottomline is that this has been going on all season, but since no one has paid any price for such lack of fundamentals, there's no incentive to change anything. They needed to send a message earlier in the season to get the players' attention, but all AA and Gibby say is 'it's early, this is a good ball club, these guys have a track record'. Anyway, joke's on me for watching them like an idiot.

It looks like hes put together a team with many players who just dont understand the basic fundamentals of baseball.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 That at bat was like the JPA AB against Rodney. It's sorta like ALL of JPA's ABs, he refuses to take pitches and swings at anything close either missing completely or grounding out. There's no reason for the opposing pitcher to give him anything even reasonable to hit EVER, because he will just swing at anything.

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Punta Cana, Puerto Plata or Boca Chica I went to Punta Cana with the whore a few years back, we had a great time. If you do those "excursion" things, try Cueva Fun Fun, it was kinda awesome good times (and the name doesn't mean "fun fun cave", it's supposed to represent the sound of bat wings apparently... Not a touristy joint.)

Probably and too late now, another wasted season.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 They need a manager that will instill some discipline. Gibby acts like a laid back hands off cheerleader I don't care how he acts on camera, and I don't know what goes on behind closed doors. The dude did literally fight two of his players before though, so he strikes me as the kinda guy who can get a bit tough if need be. I've never really understood the fan mentality of wanting the coaches/manages/GMs to say "well, this s*** right here just plain sucks and I'm going to bust some heads." Their job is not to make us feel good, it's to put together a team and run the team well. If they're not doing that job well, then complain, but when they say "we think we've got a great team" to Bob f***ing McCown, that's pretty much what I expect them to say.

I feel like this team will get nowhere near where rest of the teams in AL east are unless they fix this "culture".
Iluvbjs Verified Member Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Game Over Chicago (28-34) Toronto (27-36) 18 games away from the halfway point and this laughing stock is still being accepted by our GM as it everything is ok. Something is wrong there. Also, does Boni only swing at pitches the bounce to the plate. Tonight I watched him swing at over 7 balls, then get called out on a few right down the f***ing pipe. Has anybody followed this moron? Is he really this bad? Because if this is the s*** he swings at? He needs to be benched permanently. As it stands now, he seems to have absolutely no value to this team.

There's no reason for the opposing pitcher to give him anything even reasonable to hit EVER, because he will just swing at anything. There's also no reason for him and others to change much since they get away with it. I've said this before, given the way this team was unprepared to start the year, there needed to be a shake up in the form of a benching, demotion, a rant in the clubhouse making or something else to get their attention, but nothing happened, all AA and Gibby said was 'it's early, this is a good ball club, these guys have a track record'.

He's obviously not all that bright or he'd see that he ONLY gets away with it because he has a leash from this team for some f***ing retarded reason, and when he finally gets run out of this town on a rail he'll never actually stick with another team. Hopefully Thole starting on back to back days was SOMETHING, but he still pinch hit and had two TERRIBLE at bats (swinging at 2 of the 4 pitches he saw, neither of them being good pitches to hit). I don't know whose decision it is to keep running him out there or batting him above 8th in the lineup (seriously, at this point his bat is as bad, or worse than Boni, Izzy and Kawasaki. Kawasaki can at least work a count) but that s*** needs to change now.
