cottoncandy Verified Member Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 I don't think it'll happen because AA won't throw in the towel. But he's a perfect sell high candidate, unless you believe he will continue this way working with CM. What teams need a 1b?
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 I would trade him but I also wanted them to trade Bautista in 2010 so I know nothing.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 I think we have a few guys we should sell high on. Lind being one Janssen, Bautista, Delabar, and possibly Cecil. This is ofcourse if we don't get back into the race. My hope was Melky could have a good clean season so we could trade him for a nice return. But with the recent scandal I doubt we will be able to move him until that problem gets solved or goes away. For now I say keep Lind till he struggles again, also keep Janssen and Cecil. Delebar has been pretty good so its a toss up. I definitely say trade Bautista before next season as long as we extend Edwin.
backontop Verified Member Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Lind is playing for a new big contract next year. Some players today are only motivated by money. Since the other four AL East teams are way ahead of us, we should trade him now not in July or November but now while we can get the most for him.
hummus Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Can't trade away our best hitter, we only have a 3 year window with this current makeup. If Lind isn't apart of it we may as well firesale
backontop Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Thats the idea hummus, now you are catching on. BTW, even if Lind batted 300 by OCT 1, would you trust him next year? Why waste time playing baseball when you can stub your toe, get that big DOCTORS note, (ask people on workmans comp) go to the south of France while you are on your 30 day DL assignment. I think the owners are as fearful of being suied as doctors, so why don't they take out or subscribe to malpractice insurance? I remember a time when missing 30 days of the baseball season was very very rare, like if you broke your collarbone.

Yes today's baseball players get babied, and they are pussies. A bruins player played 30 seconds on the penalty kill last night on a broken fibula. Shows you what's what. Still there's no chance Lind gets traded, we just don't have any other good lefties.

I'd like to see it done, because I want a rebuild to be done the right way, with money being spent in smart areas... AA was brutal this past winter, so I'd like to see someone else making those trades

dmrich28 Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 No one is going to give up anything worth any value for Lind. Power numbers aren't close to what they should be.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 No one is going to give up anything worth any value for Lind. Power numbers aren't close to what they should be. He's slugging .521... You mean "Home runs are the only thing I consider power" right? Edit: Bautista is slugging .505, Encarnacion is slugging .522... Top10Catcher is slugging .449.
Mike_Wilner Verified Member Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Adam Lind is the type of guy we need. .600 slugging percentage on days when we lose to a team with a record below .500
