Notes:

Braves::

  • Freddy Freeman had success against Dickey last year with 3 extra base hits, and going 6/9 against the knuckleballer
  • Mike Minor's only against the Jays last year was a good one, 7 innings of one run ball and 8 Ks
  • The Braves DFA'd Juan Francisco earlier today, Jays could be a good fit to land the Dominican third baseman
  • The 32 games between the two clubs in the regular season is split 50/50 as both teams have 16 wins and losses

Jays:

  • Melky Cabrera has gone 11/20 playing against the Braves at turner field, and is 1/3 in his career with a homer against Mike Minor
  • Toronto's trying to win 3 straight at Turner Field (dating back to last year vs. Livian Hernandez) for the first time since 2006
  • The Jays 'Bullpen' start yesterday was great as the 4 relief pitchers hurdled 9 innings of shutout ball, walking only 2 and striking out 11 and only gave up 4 hits. Esmil Rogers made his first start since September of 2011 with Colorado, and he went a nice 3.1 innings walking two, striking out 4 on three hits. Juan Perez took over and got the W after pitching 2.2 innings with no walks, 4 Ks and no hits, the best pitching performance on the night. Neil Wagner pitched 2 innings striking out 2 and giving up a hit for his first hold of the year. And Janssen was lights out as usual having a perfect 9th inning (with a K) for his 11th save of the year

Really no reason why we shouldn't win this...

Coming off a strong pitching performance, the bats are hot...We have our so called Ace on the mound

Enough with this Series split ********, need to start stringing wins together...

Still 7 under

R.A better be having a "good day"

weakest lineup of the season by far. blanco is as productive as dickey. praying dickey pitches well and we can get a couple of runs from the top of the lineup

What an ugly lineup

I'm so sick of the personal catcher... a guy with an almost 5 era shouldn't need one lol

DeRosa 4th... puke

Might as well put Rasmus clean up if you think DeRosa can clean up... It does 2 things better... Prevents 3 straight RH hitters from coming up, and Rasmus is more of a power threat anyway

He needs one, it just should be Thole.

I'd like to see Thole but that won't happen until JP gets hurt

At this point JPA is getting more work with Dickey than Thole and it might be pretty much equal as to who handles him worse.

Yeah Blanco is cringe worthy at the plate... You're looking at 4 straight auto outs in this lineup (6-9)

It looks like... A national league lineup!

Dickey vs. Minor...which will get you 10 years.

Not bad. Not bad at all. Been a while since we got a fresh Dickey joke.

No need to be secretive about it. Most of us are hoping he takes a foul ball off the throwing hand.

I'm hoping he gets run over Prince Fielder at the plate.

Ridiculous lineup, who bats Mark Derosa 4th? Rasmus would be better fourth.

It's time for RA to pitch like the ACE he is supposed to be, the jays cannot afford more splits, it's time to start winning series, Johnson will be back next week.

Missing a year by being tackled at the plate would make him EVEN MORE like Posey...

LOL, good point...

Dickey isn`t deserving a personal catcher at the expense of a s***** offensive lineup.

I think they remove themselves from 3 straight RHers by pinch hitting Lind when the pen becomes an issue.

Dickey better finally pitch like an ace, don't think we have seen a dominant pitching performance yet this year, I want to see the RA from last year that at times looked un-hittable.

Can we all stop being delusional...the Jays will not come away with today's game.

They should've taken Tuesday's game.

Tuesday's game was brutal, we gave that one away, we have done that numerous times this year.

In fairness people were saying that with Rogers starting last night, baseball is a funny game.
