TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 If you asked me who averages the greatest distance on their HR's I would have immediately said Cruz or Napoli. While Napoli is in third and Cruz 17th, I'm shocked to see J Upton leading the way, with Trout in second. 3 Jays average over 400 ft per HR and 2 more are at 395 (Minimum 5 HR's)
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Where are the votes for EE? This is raw power, why are people suggesting Bautista?
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Sometimes I think of tools as being inherent, but perhaps that isn't always true. I'd be very interested in hearing what a scout/talent evaluator has to say on the matter. You've probably already given the subject more thought than 99% of scouts/ "evaluators". Moot opinions.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Dammit... I only came in here to sarcastically vote Evan Gattis. Since he's on the poll, I'll just leave in shame now. Not sure if the OP ingeniously anticipated your clever ruse, or went derp on the poll options.
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Out of the people listed, Chris Davis. Jacob Brumfield allegedly could bench press between 500 to 600 pounds, so if we're talking about raw power outside the context of hitting he'd be up there.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Lol @ this poll with no Stanton or Harper. Maybe the only 2 true 80 power tools in the league. right now all Stanton has is Raw DL chafing. he's not officially IN baseball right now.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 right now all Stanton has is Raw DL chafing. he's not officially IN baseball right now. He is officially in baseball.... He's just not activated yet lol
Metallijay Verified Member Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Not sure if serious or trolling? Bautista has a lot of bat speed, most of his homeruns barely make it out... Miggy maybe, but he reminds me of a baby, I don't attribute raw power to a baby. So much fail here, when you hit as many as JB yes he has some that are not out by far but he has a lot of bombs as well, do you even watch the jays ? lol.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 He just couldn't do much else. I remember in 2009, I was at a game and I was in LF, it was the game Aaron Hill broke some club HR record for 2Bs, and Stairs hit a line drive right at the LF. The LF dropped it and Stairs ran towards second and he was thrown out by a solid 4 seconds. Matt Stairs was a really good player who never got the playing time he deserved for some reason.
Laika Community Moderator Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Matt Stairs was a really good player who never got the playing time he deserved for some reason. I'd say that he got exactly what he deserved, maybe more. The guy averaged like 1 win per 150 games played. He was lucky to get the consistent part time role that he had for nearly his whole career.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Just cause you hit a lot of homers doesn't mean you have the biggest raw power. Bautista would be at the bottom of the list Rasmus would be high on my list
Nox Verified Member Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Bautista would be at the bottom of the list t Retarded
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 This is a pretty tough poll, really hard to tell. I'm going with Yoenis Cespedes, dude has some major power when he connects. Going to see some massive bombs from him for many years to come. Easily wins the hr derby.. Easy power!
