Give him a break. He doesn't have in depth knowledge of the rule book to know what a walk is.

Oh look a little internet stalker, how cute, the president of my fan club.

It looked like a base hit off the bat. JPA needs a big jump to score. It was deceiving. He got doubled off. It happens.

One of the first things you lean in base-running is "freeze line drive." Not sprint to the next base and expect it to fall. And that was hardly a line drive it was a weak pop up that didnt even escape the infield. Either JP forgot how many outs there were or has horrible judgment. Either way he has no excuse for that

so uh..Cecil for rotation?

Cecil's DEALING in the bullpen. With Oliver out.. we need a solid arm in the bullpen for 8th inning et al. Cecil failed as a starter, and is throwing gas now.

Besides, he's not stretched out ..and that will probably take atleast a week.

I think he's a better bet in the BP.

C'mon Jays lets get a lead in this inning, and get Jansen (sic) in to shut the door!

Btw, Jannsen not warming up... y'all notice that?? He hasn't pitched in a while either. Fishy??

Nothing better than a sac bunt after a 4 pitch leadoff walk... Why wait to see if he gives you anything right?

Everyone has been in key situations. I'd rather him strike out do not roll over on a low pitch.
So what were the situations for the other two GDP?

Since you apparentely couldn't be bothered to answer, and I am quite interested, I looked it up.

Cabrera's first double play of the year was in the top of the third in New York, with no outs and runners on first and second. The game was a scoreless tie, so I would definitely agree that this was a fairly key situation. BR also lists this as a high leverage situation.

His second double play was in the bottom of eight inning in Toronto, against the Orioles. The Orioles were up by four, and there were no outs, with a runner on first. While BR lists this as a medium leverage situation, I wouldn't really call it a "key" situation.

While this is all very interesting, it's certainly not a meaningful sample size to say that he has a "habit" of grounding into double play in key situations. Only one of his 37 PAs in high-leverage situations has resulted in a GDP.

because if you take first pitch strike you only have 1 more shot to bunt. You can always pull back if its a ball
