G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Lots of interleague coming up Jays vs Braves (home and home), then away at Padres and Giants Yankees vs Mets Red Sox vs Phillies Orioles vs Nationals Tampa vs Marlins Kinda sucks we got the best team to play against and Yankees and Rays have the worst Can we hold our ground over the next week? How will AA and Gibbons manage the roster vs multiple consecutive games in NL parks with no DH?
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Typically this is where we lose a ton of ground but this year has already been such a disaster maybe we can hope for some kind of Bizarro effect where everyone else struggles through interleague and we gain some ground.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 We really need to win like like 55%-60% of these

kgm1 Verified Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 haven't looked ahead but hope we see our share of LHP in the NL parks
Nox Verified Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Lind can play OF too. I see our definitions of "play" differ significantly.
theblujay Verified Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Figures we get the hardest interleague teams in the year when we are struggling so bad. 3 games vs. the Marlins would have been awesome.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Here's my annual post where I bitch about the time for interleague playing being long over... Blah blah blah, it takes the specialness away from the World Series, blah blah blah competitive balance is shot do to their desire to get "rivalries" that don't really exist... blah blah blah suck it Selig. Suck it long and suck it hard.
theblujay Verified Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 I like interleague play, but I hate that the Jays always suck at it. Also why don't they play at 1:00 today, most teams are.
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 This is the time of year the Blue Jays lose all the games and all the other AL East teams win all the games. Oh joy.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Lind can play OF too. Yeah, so can I.
theblujay Verified Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 This is the time of year the Blue Jays lose all the games and all the other AL East teams win all the games. Oh joy. That's been the whole year so far.
Metallijay Verified Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 That's been the whole year so far. lol, yes it has.
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 That's been the whole year so far. Pretty much. But this interleague thing goes back many years.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 The Braves in particular have always terrorized us. At least they don't have Venters and O'Flaherty, maybe we'll actually score off their bullpen this year. Jays and Braves have the same approach (all or nothing) Dickey and Morrow will strikeout many brave.
Pete_7 Verified Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Is the Jays game next Sunday seriously a 10pm start? Yikes
IBTrini Verified Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 What's sad is that our lineup actually improves by playing in the NL Really? How is that so? Am I missing something or do the Jays lose one of Lind/Cabrera/Encarnacion cuz there are not enough spots for them to start then another of your offensive spots is filled with a pitcher?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 27, 2013 Author Posted May 27, 2013 When is Rajai due back? He's useful in these games.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 27, 2013 Author Posted May 27, 2013 Would be nice if Johnson was back for a start as well. A - we need the firepower B - he can actually hit!
Figgy1R22R Verified Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Lind 1b, Edwin E5 3b, Cabrera stays in LF. Lawrie to 2b taking Bonis spot. Assuming Lawrie can play 2nd which is actually assuming a lot so you are probably right. We will most likely lose one of those guys. It'll be interesting to see the lineups tonight.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 When is Rajai due back? He's useful in these games. Last I heard from Rotoworld, he's supposed to be back first week of June. I hope so, I need someone to help me with stolen bases.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 27, 2013 Author Posted May 27, 2013 (edited) Last I heard from Rotoworld, he's supposed to be back first week of June. I hope so, I need someone to help me with stolen bases. Due respect to your fantasy team, I find he's just a great option off the bench to pinch hit off a LHP or pinch run for Lind, JP, Melky, etc. Hopefully Gibbons is artful at knowing when to pinch hit for his starting pitcher... It is a holiday in the US (Memorial Day) it is not a holiday in TO where the game is being played. Lets allow the working man to watch a Jays game
