The Blue Jays were trying to WIN THE GAME, not improve their run differential in the event of a loss. Lind's run meant nothing.

 

It did mean something because the tieing run would have been at 2nd with one out instead of 1st

Lawrie was a hero in his own mind and thought he was getting high 5s for an RBI. on the way back to the dugout he was barking at either Lind or Rivera for Rivera not sending Lind to get thrown out at home plate when they were still down 2 runs. Lawrie is an ego that wont go away. I think he's a cancer and this was the tipping point. Gibbons clearly said ******** and it was clear he'd had enough.

No, because Arencibia wasn't tagging up from first no matter what. Markakis was throwing to the cut-off man, because he knew the situation. Lind didn't matter.
