I still don't understand why we didn't just start Ortiz. Instead, AA brings up a guy who has 30 innings in double A.

 

The O's started someone yesterday who had 46 innings at double A. I think Cingrani only had about 90. Fernandez only had about 55 innings in advanced A before the Marlins brought him up (they've done the same with some hitters too). I agree with others that we should have just started Ortiz, but let's not pretend that moving guys up fast is only done by us.
