BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 The last time Arencibia struck out? Today. Three times. K/BB ratio approaching 30:1
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 You hated Tallet?! I hated Tallet with a passion previously met by no other.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Not a fan of Bruce Tallet? Bernard Tallet really got on my nerves.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Fun fact: JP Arencibia recently passed Kevin Youkilis for the coveted #1 spot on my list of most hated professional athletes. Carry on. No Clay Matthews? Only time JPA and the Greek God of Walks will be put into the same sentence
Nox Verified Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 No Clay Matthews? Only time JPA and the Greek God of Walks will be put into the same sentence Well Clay Matthews went to USC (was a big fan of the program before the douche Kiffin took over) so that's why he's not on the list.
Nox Verified Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 I think I may hate him more than Tallet at this point. That's saying something. How can you hate the originator of a top 5 board meme?
Nox Verified Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 I don't think I've ever disliked a complete stranger more in my entire life. I see we feel very similarly about this.
Nox Verified Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Bruce Tallet's post gas canning "Balls to the wall" interview (coming minutes before his impending DFA) was also one of my favourite moments of the AA era.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 How can you hate the originator of a top 5 board meme? I wasn't on the board at that time, so quite easily. Were you a fan when he was a very useful swingman (before Cito ruined him)? Yes, and it's a horridly irrational hate. I took my dad to game versus the Giants for Father's Day after we had been fighting, and Tallet blew it the f*** open, which kinda wrecked the day, so I've hated him ever since. Also, he was a hipster. Somewhat useful reliever? Sure. But I still can't f***ing stand the POS.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Were you a fan when he was a very useful swingman (before Cito ruined him)? Cito shortened Tallet's career. Cito had serious issues with trust and usage of the BP.
Nox Verified Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Yup. What made it fantastic was that, for reasons that defy logic considering we had other available arms, he was brought into an extra-innings save situation and predictably blew up. It was Wak that puppet-mastered this grand trolling wasn't it?
Nox Verified Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 I wasn't on the board at that time, so quite easily. Was "GordieDougie" your first account on the old board?
Errorcebia Verified Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Fun fact: JP Arencibia recently passed Kevin Youkilis for the coveted #1 spot on my list of most hated professional athletes. Carry on. Just recently? What took so long?
Nox Verified Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 So crafty. I can't wait until he's tapped to replace Gibby mid season.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Yup. What made it fantastic was that, for reasons that defy logic considering we had other available arms, he was brought into an extra-innings save situation and predictably blew up. @ Baltimore? In 2011? I was at this game. Horrifying. Was "GordieDougie" your first account on the old board? Contrary to popular belief, yes, it was. Signed up in like August and read along but never posted until like February.
Nox Verified Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Just recently? What took so long? Look, don't sass me here. I'm not in the mood. Youk is a douche nozzle of near unprecedented proportions. Not only that, he plays in Boston and has killed the Jays for years. JP was always a top douche prospect in his own right but it took him awhile to overtake the body of work Youk has put up.
Nox Verified Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Contrary to popular belief, yes, it was. Signed up in like August and read along but never posted until like February. Jesus. How did you live without posting? This past month you've been going at a 2012 Fatcow on a freshly opened Fun-Dip pace.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 I'd like to point out that Mike Zunino just hit his 8th HR...but he hasn't drawn a walk since April 27th. #NEXTJPA for the record Montero is playing 1B in the game.

I'd like to point out that I advised NJH to take Zunino with his first pick in the DDL farm system draft. You're welcome.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 (edited) Jesus. How did you live without posting? This past month you've been going at a 2012 Fatcow on a freshly opened Fun-Dip pace. I never even posted that much before this board. I basically lived at Operation Sports over the summer and only posted about 1000 times in a month and a half. I got banned at some point too. But then this board came up and while it's not without its' f***ing idiots, there's intelligent debate in most threads and that's encouraged me to post more. Yup. I remember it vividly. The sea was angry that day, my friends - like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli. When Tallet was put in, the Baltimore fans I was sitting near knew they were going to win. GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 So JPA was the only starter on a team that got 17 hits to go hitless tonight. 3 K's to his collection.
Arkadium Verified Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 When JPA heard DM's mantra "walks are for pussies" ... he never looked back
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 I think it's about time Murph gets a chance. I want to see Joey Bats arm fall off swinging for Jesus.
Fearthedoc Verified Member Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 WTF do my eyes deceive me or did JP just..
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 THE END IS NIGH! Save the women and children, leave the Yankees fans behind, ARENCIBIA WALKED! IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!
oakville69 Verified Member Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 JPA took a walk!!!!!! Unbelievable, I never thought I would see again in my lifetime

over500 Verified Member Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 You know you're bad when one walk decreases your BB/K ratio down by 10.
