G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 if we're lucky it'll rain everywhere until around the all-star break Unfortunately that doesn't help with home games
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Because ERA is such a good measurement of pitcher ability... His FIP is equally atrocious at 6.36 so it's "real" and not bad luck Of course we all knew he's been terrible...
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 LETS GO BLUE JAYS!!! I think were going to win today.. and if not... who cares at this point
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Buerhle's terrible... but I don't think he's worse than Ramon Ortiz lol.
bzapple Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 His FIP is equally atrocious at 6.36 so it's "real" and not bad luck Of course we all knew he's been terrible... Nobody can deny he's been bad this year, but career numbers still matter. For a guy with his track record of consistency it's pretty dumb to write him off after a bad month, and laughable to consider him worse than Ramon Ortiz.
eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 lol Just when there is a glimmer of hope after beating the Rays twice.... awful three game losing streak. I dont even care anymore.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 xFIP is 4.96. He is getting extremely unlucky with HR/FB. 18.6% right now compared to 11.3% league average last year and his career 10.1%. Interesting extra info Is HR per FP really strongly influenced by luck though or more just a measure of how hittable a guy is? Not questioning you, just seriously asking

Not questioning you, just seriously asking Yea I think I saw somewhere that he's given up the biggest average distance in hrs or something so it might not be all luck. He's definitely not this bad though.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Hanrahan officially out for the season
Metallijay Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Does no one else realize how terrible Ortiz pitched last night? 5 BB and 1 K. Got extremely lucky with LOB and BABIP with runners on. It was all luck, nothing to do with making good pitches low in the zone to induce ground balls. Buerhle has yet to have an outing as good lol.
Dude Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Hanrahan officially out for the season Thought it was a Jays player for a second http://i.imgur.com/hXJRQwC.jpg
Metallijay Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Because ERA is such a good measurement of pitcher ability... Umm you been watching right? No one with a brain can argue buerhle has been nothing short of horrendous, please. Every thing he has done has been a disaster. A control pitcher with no control throwing junk balls over the heart of the plate, thats what he has been so far. He may get better, but he is on the decline with below average stuff. Also no one said ortiz was better he said right now he has more confidence in ortiz...cannot blame him buerhle has been a disaster. Until he shows he can be better, he isn't.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 lets go blue jays!!! Clap clap clap!!!

o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 how do I get a GIF posted and working in the chat???? yeah, as you are about to be sucked from sight, blast your competition with your last gasp of air. lol
Metallijay Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Buehrle has been unlucky with HR/FB. But he still hasn't been great (4.96 xFIP). But I was referring to Ortiz. Ortiz was horrendous but extremely lucky (6.00 xFIP) and now the organization thinks he did well and will throw him out there to get punished once more. Unlucky with HR's? LOL making horrendous junk ball pitches and falling behind is not unlucky. Also, ortiz made some good pitches to enduce double plays its not just luck. YEs buerhle is better then ortiz, but so far this season he has not been, he's been a horror show.
theblujay Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 I never said Ortiz was better than Buehrle. I just said that I expected Ortiz to pitch a better game yesterday than I expect Buehrle to pitch today.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Anyone else get a boner from this line up..
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Lineup optimization gets me hard too. But I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not so... lol no I actually love this line up. Good to see someone actually using advanced stats to help win ball games
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Still hard to love this lineup when JPA's batting fourth, or any lineup with JPA in it for that matter.

DwightDM Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 I'm a big, big fan of the way the lineup is set up today. It gives me hope!
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Lmao at zauns own formula..can someone shut this guy up
JohnnyLonghorn Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Clay is so due for a s***** outing
Jays Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 What was that run producing stat that Zaun just said?
baseballsss Verified Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 runs+rbis-homers=.086? is that what he said?
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 runs+rbis-homers=.086? is that what he said? Something to do with dividing by games played. Either way it was beyond idiotic
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 this is what Buehrle needs to do today!!! http://www.xavierpop.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/hulk_smash_loki.gif
