Probably not all that much if you're dealing with a smart team.

I wonder if we could get Franklin or Paxton or someone from the M's?

I've been scouring the past trades to see what has happened in the past. There aren't many that are similar. I'll keep looking. it would almost take a perfect situation like SF losing Pagan for the season or Detroit losing AJax.

Well, he is a pitcher...

I guess so... but I always think hard throwing guys with injury histories are going to blow up at anytime... like Josh Johnson.

They'd never take Alford he's a in club problem as a two sport player, this guy redshirt and has no care about the Birds bonus cash and has ran.............

Rasmus isn't exactly your boring David DeJesus or Cliff Pennington.

A lot of M's fans friends would love the guy, though, and I know one that would gladly give up Miller + Paxton, which I would do in a heartbeat.

This is what the season has come to. Rooting for specific injuries to open up a trade opp for us.

How's the Rays fan club coming?

I expect the Red Sox to sweep thus ending the Jays' season on May 12th. Rogers' shills have given the Red Sox extra motivation with their silly accusations. I even think Blue Jays players and managers were embarrassed by the whole incident.

Definitely possible.

I might not know advanced metrics like most of you guys, but can anyone tell me how it is beneficial to sit Kawasaki against lefties? From my layman perspective has ability to suck pitches is far more valuable then Maicers ability to flail about the strikezone. Granted he has had a few clutch hits lately, he's still a ****.

maybe AA has promised inning to the mouse to go with his promises to Blanco and DeRosa.

If we got him for like Kyle Drabek or something I'd be pretty stoked to have him. That's probably not very rational on my part though.

Kyle Drabek > dime a dozen bag of crap Eric Stults

I would do Sierra for Stults, though, now that you mention it.

Let's be honest here: they're both dime a dozen bags of crap. I'd probably rather have the arm that's healthy and can throw the ball in the strike zone.

Kyle Drabek's stuff most certainly isn't dime a dozen.

His control, on the other hand, screams penny row prostitute.

That's fairly generous of you.

Side notes... I'm keeping track of pretty much every name that's been mentioned in a trade here, SPs, RPs, OFs, everything, nice little reference point. Also, when the f*** is Hutch back?

Apparently he had a nasty curveball but I don't remember him throwing it.

did he keep the toenails? Rogers has the ability to clone

Yah, we could use a 2nd closer!!!

1 righty, 1 lefty, 1 blackey, 1 whitey

That's championship balance!!

You can say the same about any number of replacement-level arms in the game. He's 25, has had two TJ surgeries, and has absolutely no command. At this point he'll be lucky to have a career as a middle reliever.

Really? I remember it very well. His first MLB K was on it, no? Beauty 12-6er, started high and dropped off the face of the earth, buckled some O's scrub.

For all his supposed STUFF, he never punched out a guy per inning in the minors. That basically precludes him from being a top line starter in the MLB. Even if he didn't walk twice more than he should. Honestly, his 2010 season in AA wasn't good. No idea how he was ranked as high as he was in prospect rankings.

ERA and WINZ...f*** me.

Sure there are. Drabek will end up just another in a long list of guys who failed despite good stuff.

Yet another Todd Van Poppel

I'll bet you $20 that Drabek's peak, measured by fWAR, is higher than Stults'. This is obviously a multi-year bet but I'm in if you are.

He shouldn't have been rated as high as he was but imo I figured he'd be a good #3 or so.

Ok apparently he did use it... 9.8% in 2012, but you would think he would use it more if it's his best pitch.

He really, really should have. I really liked his curve.

I remember thinking similarly too. But the odds of being a good #3 with that demonstrated lack of ability to miss bats in the minors is pretty damn low.

Confidence is the killer. If he doesn't think he can command, he isn't gonna throw it. Regardless of potency. As my father would say million dollar arm, ten cent mind.

I wonder if Drabek will even start when he comes back... after two TJS they might just put him in the BP.

To be fair, he did strike out 10.8/9 in 2009 at A+.

Yet he threw his cutter?

Yeah. I don't even know why there was so much hype. A 22 year-old RHP with mid-90s heat, poor command, and 7.33 K/9 + 3.68 BB/9 in AA isn't exactly a rare commodity.

You see my post proposing the bet?
