I was just wondering how we wanted to end this each year? should we just have overall standings that goes to the end of the season or implement some kind of playoffs? If we did playoffs it could be something like the top 12 board members make the playoffs in late august and go head to head. Could run like a typical playoff bracket where members face 1 member, each round lasting 1 week. Member with the most points that week move on to the next round.

We decided that streaks end if you do not pick for the game. If there is no home runs in the game then the streak stays alive. Just because people could decide not to pick when it's a hard pitcher or when its tougher to make a pick. And also wait for bonus days like NorthOf49 said.

How to play:

Pick a player on the Jay's starting lineup that you think will hit the first bomb during today's game. If you pick the correct player you will earn the corresponding points. Players more unlikely to hit a home run will earn you more points than those likely to knock one out. Below is a list of the points each player is worth today. Points will change daily depending on whether the player is on a hot or cold streak, and bonus points will be available on random days. You can only pick one player, and you can't change once you picked. You must have your pick in before the first pitch of the game. Daily lineups will be posted roughly a hour before the game. I will keep track of points and the board member with the most points at the end of the year wins!

I think the playoffs should remain open to everyone, since the contest is. Something like pick one person from each playoff game (either team, and excluding wildcard games). No bonuses.

ahhhh. I don't see any reason to do that. Perhaps we could split the contest up into two, one pre and one post all-star break though.

jays have had some really fugly games lately. kicking the ball around and back to april 1st hacks in hitters counts. not much going right.
