On my way! To Buffalo! Good morning blessings to all.

At the end.

He's such a negative Nancy, eh?

So:

Reyes

Bautista

EE

Lind

Cabrera

Rasmus

JPA

Izturis/DeRosa

Kawasaki

???

Are you assuming a Bonerface move in this case?

Also, I just don't see Melky as a middle of the order bat, I'd put him 9th, frankly.

It looks like Reyes is still limping to me?

Yeah, I think it's natural though, he's been hobbled and limping for 2+ months that it may take a bit of time to get back to normal. He has stolen bases, hit triples and doubles, so he's healthy...so let's keep it that way!

I'm just going with what Gibbons said

When playing his best he's a great #2 hitter. Contact hitter who doesn't strike out much.

I went to both the Jays and Bisons game today.

Reyes is ready. Looked like himself at the dish. Stole 2nd by a mile and sped home on a shallow hit to CF from 2nd. He looks good. I can't see how he isn't in Tampa Monday

If I was coach right now I'd do

Reyes SS

Jose RF

Edwin 3B

Lind 1B

Melky DH

Rasmus CF

Izturis 2B

JP C

Davis LF

Unless edwin plays really bad at 3rd I'd stick him there.

Later in the game when you want defense.. maybe put in derosa at 2nd and put izturis at 3rd.?

So where's the Brett Lawrie Return Tracker thread?

It had a conniption fit and got suspended for one game

Lol, but seriously, is he back drinking RB and rehabbing?

Ne. He's just working out. No game type activity yet.

Well maybe a bit better than that.

Rotoworld:

Brett Lawrie (ankle) took grounders and some light batting practice on Wednesday afternoon.

It's a nice step in the right direction for the young third baseman, who injured his ankle on a slide on May 27. He should be cleared to run the bases in about one week. Then comes the minor league rehab assignment. The best guess right now is that he's back in early July. Jun 19 - 4:25 PM

Thanks man! His return will create another roster problem, won't it?

Only sort of. Lawrie is 3B only and none of the other guys are a legit 3B option. But yes, one of the other infielders will have to be optioned or DFA.

You can't play Edwin at 3B everyday. I know he looked fine in a SSS this season. But his throws were still taking Lind all over the place. He doesn't have the ability to throw the ball straight. I even get nervous when hes throwing the ball to second from first base although he seems to make that throw better. Lind makes that throw everytime and looks a lot more fluid at first base. I still feel Edwin's best position is DH. However he has improved significantly at first base.

Agree. Edwin has really good reflexes that play well at first. It's the arm that's the problem.

The bat is good though. :)

Reyes 2 for 4 again tonight

Played the whole game as far as I can tell

AA was in Buffalo to watch him and Ricky

Honestly there was only a few plays this season of note in which I felt Melky could have/should have made a play on. But none of those plays really came back to hurt us.

Agree. He's been dependable if completely unspectacular in LF.

I can't see any reason why Reyes shouldn't be with the team tomorrow... Then again, I'm a random (albeit incredibly handsome) internet commenter.
