Don't think it would be selling high on Pompey if they traded him now.

They believe in his breakout. LaCava was raving about him before the season started. The Blue Jays likely value him more than other organizations do right now.

Cole has trade value of a PTBNL. He turns 25 years old in August and is in High A.

Brantley, Crisp, Moises Alou, Schmidt, Bonderman and......................Big Papi?

It seems that if Smoral had even a modicum of control he'd be unhittable. Hopefully he figures it out like Norris did.

Geeze. That would rocket him up the charts wouldn't it?

The fact that he's LHP like Norris makes me hopeful that they can help him figure things out.

Exactly. There's no question about the stuff. The stuff is potentially elite for a lefty. You give an arm like that as much time or as many chances as it needs. Big guys always take longer to perfect their mechanics as well. Randy Johnson being the most commonly used example.

Yup, you hit on a couple of these high ceiling guys and you're set for a good while....unless you trade them for some old trick-pitcher.

For now, I'm going to predict that this was the best control Smoral will show, and that the walks soon will be out of control, and more plentiful than the K's, again. I'd certainly love to be surprised.

Way to go out on a limb there.

Bluefield radio announced raving about Richard Urena

"Urena is someone the Blue Jays organization is very, very excited about. He's very fluid at shortstop. Urena is a part of many young shortstop in the organization..." etc went on to mention Lugo and Barreto.

I saw Urena, Lugo and F-Barreto (showcase). Urena was 17 years old when I saw him and his bat don't impressed me but.................he did look like a real SS at that young age.

Urena D + Deiferson Barreto hit tool = Really good prospeect ALA Adalberto Mondesi lol

Richard Urena is a switch hitter? He's hit from both sides of the plate tonight - according to Bluefield radio guy.

Lefty

Yeah I see that on his fangraphs/milb page but the radio guy just called him a switch hitter and said he's hit from two different sides of the plate tonight vs RHP / LHP .

Weird.

Maybe they confounded Segovia with Urena.

Hard to believe Alford is not even 20 yet. Feels like we've been talking about him for years.

Terrific athlete.
