Non-guy aside, those are some pretty impressive numbers.

I knew he was doing well, but I didn't think it was THAT good. No idea what the orgs plans are for him, so I can't tell you if he will be promoted soon or not

Is that team as a whole that good or the division that weak?

It's only the beginning of May, there isn't a need to rush. Let him get a month more at bats in Dunedin, and if he continues to succeed promote him to AA.

The jump between A+ and AA is a big one.

See Andy Burns, last season.

Tore up the FSL in the first half of the season and was one of the top hitters in the league, promoted to AA and hasn't done very well.

Don't know how Dalton Pompey will fair, especially when most of his value comes from his speed and defense.

Or see Kevin Pillar.

What

Pillar actually improved from A+ to AA, had more power, while walking more and striking out at the same rate as A+?

That was my point... Sarcasm.

I suppose it varies from player to player but my point still stands. I don't think there is a need to rush him all the way up the system, with only 34 games above Lansing.

I said that as tongue in cheek, don't want him getting to old for his level of play. Otherwise some on here will dismiss what he is doing because of his age! Lol

5IP 2H 0ER 0BB 4K 9GO/0FO

Out for the 6th inning

We are getting some nice pitching in the minors this year. And not just from names you hear pumped on this board !

Matt is finished with 8IP, 0R, 4H, 1BB and 6K. Best pro start so far. Struggled with command in his first two starts this year. He walked only 3 total last year, but had 3 in both his first two starts this year. Tonight he was in complete command - first pitch strike all night.

Great to hear!

They are still in the top of the 9th - 10-0 now. His pitching count was in the 90s so I am sure he is finished.

Yikes! There gonna be some tough calls when you combine those two lists! So if they are not added and not picked, can they remain in the system but do not have to be added to the 40 as well then?

You would hope a near 24 yr old would dominate high A ball lol. It was a great start but he really needs to blow away the competition at this level consistently if he's to be anything more than an org guy

As a player moves up to AA, the pitchers are a lot more consistent-more often around the plate- and for better hitters, they will actually hit better than they did at lower levels (where pitchers have great stuff but its all over the place). Proven hitters, like Kalfus from the 2013 draft, will excel when given the opportunity.

Ok thanks..

BA's prospect hot sheet:

5. D.J. Davis, of, Blue Jays

Team: low Class A Lansing (Midwest)

Age: 19

Why He’s Here: .478/.571/.783 (11-for-23), 6 R, 1 2B, 2 HR, 5 RBIs, 5 BB, 4 SO, 1-for-3 SB

The Scoop: The way Davis started his season was, well . . . yikes. By the end of April, he was slashing .217/.253/.359 with four walks and 36 strikeouts in 23 games. While the swing-and-miss is still a concern, he’s been better over the last couple weeks, with homers in back-to-back games on Monday and Tuesday. That’s encouraging, but there are still red flags waving here with the bat, while Davis is still learning to tap into his premium speed on the basepaths, having been successful in just 5 of 13 stolen base attempts.

Dalton Pompey, of, Blue Jays: One of the breakout players of the 2014 season, Pompey already was showing he could hit for average and get on base at a high clip. He hadn’t shown much over-the-fence pop, so this week he added two home runs, giving him three on the year to raise his line with high Class A Dunedin to .338/.412/.490 with a spiffy 17-for-18 in steals.

Big game in Dunedin today, Norris vs Glasnow. Pittsburgh also has Josh Bell in their lineup. Big time prospects on both sides!

Can we release this f*** already?

At the very least its strange that they haven't at least sent him down to the low minors yet. What is going on with him at this point is basically the textbook definition of insanity (If you dont know, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results). Send him down if they are gonna keep him. If not then I am with you just dump him.

When do you guys think they will promote Norris? He's been a stud over 8 starts and 40 innings, pretty obvious he needs a new challenge.

MILB Allstar weekend (halfway through season)

I'm excited to see him play vs AA talent, usually the most difficult jump (outside of playing MLB talent of course)
