Interesting

If you read about him a bit, you'll find that he sat out the 2011 college season which probably cost him being drafted higher than the 11th round that year. I'd like to see him promoted to AA soon.

I really hope Alford decides to give up football. Maybe if he plays really well this year he focus solely on baseball since he has to sit out this year in football I think.

Why did he sit out the 2011 college season?

Sorry, I should've said why in my post. He changed schools so he had to sit out that year.

So had he played in the 2011 season, where would he have been in the draft?

Not sure where he would've been taken, but certainly higher than the 11th round. It's good to see a guy hitting well and showing a good BB%. Christian Lopes is also doing well and it was good to see that he started walking after his BA fell under .300. They're far away though, but since Burns is 22 going on 23, I really think they should promote him to AA soon to see how he handles it. I'd also like to think they'd try him at 2B.

Chris Lopes

.321/.365/.423 (6.1% BB rate and improving)

Yordano Ventura vs. Keyvius Sampson was as well a pitched game as I've seen at any level this year. San Antonio won after Ventura was removed.

Ventura 8IP, 4 Hits, 1 ER, 0 BB, 8 K's

Sampson 7 IP, 5 Hits, 1 ER, 2 BB, 9 K's

Take the rest of the year off. Go on the Delabar program (grasping at straws). Something is seriously wrong.

It is. But to me. It's better then mediocre. This signals something is truly wrong... that he is not just bad... but something must be physically wrong.

You'd think so. This is not just pitching bad, it's like throwing someone out there who's never pitched professionally.

He has the yips, it's not physical. This is worse than mediocre, there's no solution to the yips.

It's funny. I always think of ways people can get rid of that mental hurdle.

There was a story on ESPN's E:60. It was about this female soccer player who had a chance to make the national womens under 18 team (I think). Anyway, she heard word that there were scouts coming to her game, almost a tryout for the national team. She completely caved under the pressure, had a terrible game and never made the team.... I think she gave up soccer shortly after. Anyway, she wanted to figure out what happened to her that day. Why she got the "yips". Why she completely caved under pressure. She ended up studying the concept at school and came up with some great ways to help overcome it... It's the same kind of thing that happens when you study hard for a test and then sit down and draw a blank. I wish I could find the special.... It couldn't hurt to have her work with Ricky.

He can definitely overcome it, but the fix is different for anyone. I think they should just send him on a vacation to do absolutely nothing. Have him think about no baseball for a month or two.

When I posting the tweet are blank.

he has the worst twitter account ever. on April 25th he wrote this though

He's in Florida and mentions Bluefield so maybe they are looking to bring him back when the short season starts. Hard to tell he makes Ang look like an English major.

Keith Law has an updated top 25, with an Aaron Sanchez appearance.

13. Aaron Sanchez, RHP | Toronto Blue Jays (age 20)

Current level: High Class A (Dunedin)

Preseason ranking: 19

He's on the shelf right now with a minor muscle pull, but Sanchez's plus stuff, including a fastball up to 99 mph with minimal effort, is producing better results already than it did last year, a step forward similar to Archie Bradley's, where the performance is catching up to the scouting reports.

Pillar 2-3 HR

The guy can flat out hit

All he does is hit.... and apparently he can field too... has some assists.
