BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 Anyone selling a good second baseman?
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 Anyone selling a good second baseman? I have Nico Hoerner, Jon Berti, Josh Harrison, and Tommy LaStella. Are any of them "good"?
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 Maybe some interest in LaStella
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 I've got Albies, Jazz, and France. I can part with one
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2021 Posted April 28, 2021 Garrett Richards - yes, the Garrett Richards of 10 strikeouts and no walks tonight - is available for a pick.

I don’t know how many times I’ve sat a scrub on a Mon or Tues and then they do really good and then I’m like “I should’ve played the guy on a Tues”.. but then rinse and repeat

BTS Community Moderator Posted April 29, 2021 Posted April 29, 2021 In case anyone wants a laugh, I will present my production from SS this season: Brandon Crawford - 12 GP 0.511 OPS Leury Garcia - 5 GP 0.200 OPS Nick Ahmed - 5 GP 0.048 OPS Miguel Rojas - 4 GP 0.368 OPS Freddy Galvis - 1 GP 2.000 OPS It would be difficult to get production this bad from a position if you were deliberately streaming shitbags against aces trying to see how little you could get.

The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2021 Posted April 29, 2021 Wander will soon save me from this hell. Or he takes after former #1 overall prospect Jurickson Profar. Slash lines for both at A Ball. Same ages at 18. .286/.390/.493 .318/.390/.506
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2021 Posted April 29, 2021 I offered you Story for Wander last year, would have been helpful... just say'n

Laika Community Moderator Posted April 30, 2021 Author Posted April 30, 2021 Let's bring forward the lazy Profar/Wander comp in a year or so. It's not a comp. Wise ass cat is just showing you guys the lower end of all realistic possibilities
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted April 30, 2021 Posted April 30, 2021 It's not a comp. Wise ass cat is just showing you guys the lower end of all realistic possibilities Very low end. And lazy as Profar wRC+ 1st three minor league seasons are 101, 142, 127, Wander 159, 155, 157. Profar struggled when he went up against advanced pitching. By all reports, Wander has not.

The congruent data point of them both being #1 prospects in the scouting community is probably worth more than the data point of Franco's wRC+ figures in A+ and below.

Through first 175 games: Franco = 157wRC+ Robles = 162wRC+

Laika Community Moderator Posted April 30, 2021 Author Posted April 30, 2021 You are weighing subjective data over objective? Yeah, sometimes you should. It's not an objective vs. subjective binary where objective info is always better. Batting average in high school is an objective measurement. You would not use that over a subjective scout's opinion on hit tool. You would not use a gulf coast league wRC+ over scouting consensus.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 Combination of historical strikeout rates and expanded 26 man dynasty rosters mean the replacement level hitter in this league now looks like LOD. Christ it's a wasteland.

Christ it's a wasteland. Ooo, not even close. Best available hitters in LoD are backup catchers with 10% own rates. Here you've got some decent hitters

Here you've got some decent hitters Yeah, roster sizes might be the same, but it's still 30 teams vs 20 teams, which puts LOD 260 players deeper, plus 100 milb guys = 360 players off the board, that are available here.

I would still do Bichette for Wander right now!
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 I’m with Dinger on this. If you lose a position to injury and don’t already have a backup rostered you’re gonna get stuck running trash out there. Highest owned percentage hitter right now on the FA list is Hernandez. Owner of a .528 OPS. I had the privilege of owner him for a few days when Bryant was down, would not recommend.
