I can't veto a trade where the two shortstops switching teams are the same age and project for basically the same wRC+. f*** I think I'd still take Tulo over Cozart for 2018.

I understand the general issues. I gather that the concerns are things that have probably been on people's minds for a while, and they are just bubbling up right now.

 

I'm not 100% against removing an active owner from the league but it's not something to do lightly. If someone is simply never competitive, shows no signs of ever being competitive, and makes a bunch of annoying trades with probably their best friend in the league, is that enough?

 

I don't buy the argument for intentional collusion.

 

Gibbers is the only owner I've ever played with that made me question whether or not they planned to ever try to win. We'll be entering season 6 next year, and he's seemingly never entertained the idea of trying to make the playoffs. It feels a lot more like a long troll than it does an owner who has struggled to put a quality team together. Combined with him being very difficult to reach, and his series of questionable moves with jaysblue, I don't think we'd have a difficult time finding an owner that improved the quality of the DDL.

I even made my intentions clear this morning on what I was looking to add before the deadline. I said I'd like to add a MI with multi-poistion eligibility since Zobrist looks sucky now. I searched through some rosters and saw Gibbers had Cozart. I figured since he has Correa and Baez already that he could be open to moving him so I sent him a message and it went from there.

 

Honestly, this is what I figured you did. Thing is nothing was said about Tulo, until people started barking over the value without mention of him and was confirmed, looks sketchy boys. That's the under-belly here me thinks.

So I make a lot of trades with Gibbers, what does that have to do with anything? Again, this whole thing is overblown. Like even the Hurl said, we all have preferred trading partners/board members we have trade discussions with etc. I don't see how your argument is valid. And if you use the example of him spoon feeding me in trades for Posey and Marte, I'll turn to your Correa trade again.

 

Anyone who thinks I made the Correa trade with the intention of making NJH's team better at the expense of my own, please say so.

Part of the problem is Gibbers constant absenteeism. If you don't have time for a league, you shouldn't be in it. People send him trade offers that he ignores for weeks or months

If you are going to have a crappy rebuilding team, be present, make moves, build towards something. He has not done any of those things, and the rope has been long.

 

Absenteeism from where? Here? I set my lineups pretty much daily and make adds and drops when I need to. The excessive NA players are good prospects. So when it's cutdown time, I promote guys so I don't have to cut good prospects from my farm and I'd prefer to scoop a good NA guy who is a prospect over a meh guy who's gonna play regularly. Like German Marquez, he wasn't guaranteed to play much this year, but he was one of my top picks in the waiver draft.

 

I don't want to hear "oh sorry I was away from email for two weeks." This is 2017, we all have mobile apps, we all have smartphones, we all have email at our fingertips most of the day.

 

Rarely come on this message board any more. And after repeatedly telling people to email me because I'm on my email daily, I still get tons of messages in my Notifications when I do sign in here. So don't lay all blame on me. Send me a f***ing email like I've said and I'll respond. Talk to Nick, I respond to him all the time.

 

If you can't fulfill basic communication requirements, this league isn't for you. It's time we hand this team over to an owner who actually intends on winning some day, and who actually responds to messages in a reasonable period of time.

Everybody has their more frequent trade partners, but I know for a fact that a lot of people in this league don't even bother trying to trade with Gibbers because it goes nowhere. Meanwhile you seem to have a direct line.
