I asked him what's up on facebook

Hopefully he's ok. If it's just that he lost interest because his team sucks though, he should let us know so we can replace him.

Given the current state of pitching, I didn't think too hard about this one. My pick was only #10 too which is practically useless except for this class of player.

Min messaged me back, everything is ok, he's just been really busy and will apparently make an appearance shortly.

I had a claim on him too. Think you're higher then me though.

Important note: Someone else needs to take charge of facilitating the draft this year. I'm swamped in June and I'll likely be AFK for large chunks of days.

It's not that much work now that MVP z3r0s controls the spreadsheet. The group of spreadsheet editors generally make a team effort of it anyway.

You just need to:

1) set the cutdown deadline and draft start date [important]

2) email everyone through Yahoo to inform them of the important dates [important]

3) make sure everyone cuts down at the deadline (follow up with specific owners if needed)

4) delete any picks that are surplus after the deadline

5) be fairly active during the draft in case people ask for the next person to be emailed, to message someone whose clock is near expiry, etc.

Sorry in advance for the overshare...

About 4 hours ago, my dog passed away. She struggled with breathing/heart issues all weekend and this morning around 6 am, she had a massive heart attack and died in my arms. She suffered from a heart murmur for years now, which progressed over time. As a result, her heart had to compensate and became extremely enlarged. She was my best fried and companion for 12 years. This was not my family's dog, this was my personal dog that I raised from the age of 19. As tragic as it was to watch her die, I'm grateful to be the last thing she saw and the last person she heard. I told her I loved her and that was she was a good girl until her last breath. Needless to say, this hasn't all really sunken in yet. I'm getting a lot of love from friends and family that is helping to lift me up. If I'm ruder than usual, or absent, please try to let it slide. More likely I'll keep myself immersed in this pointless pastime to keep myself distracted from the pain. She was a f***ing great dog, and cute as all hell.

Rest in peace Cori <3

This is as heartwarming as it is sad. Doggos are probably the best part of our society.

Sorry to hear that. I know a lot of people don't get the connection. I can't imagine going into work at a time like that.

When it's time for my dog, I don't really know how I'll be able to handle it. All you can do is console yourself with the fact that you gave her a great life, filled with joy.

Sorry to hear that Dinger. Glad you were able to be with her at the end. As hard as it is, that is the best way.

Jeeze man, that sucks. Pets can connect with you in a way that other people just can't and I think people really underestimate the impact of losing a pet, in general. Like, you're expected to be at work the next day and s***, and it isn't right. Losing a pet is almost as much of an impact as losing a human relative, sometimes even moreso.

In any event, I'm really sorry for your loss. I know it's hard and we are here for you buddy.

I'm truly sorry for your loss, Dinger. I know this is a small comfort, but we're all here to help take your mind off the heartache.

Thanks guys. I took today off and I'll assess tomorrow. Luckily I work somewhere where we can take Personal Needs days. It was a crazy enough week already as I'm moving next Saturday, so it's a lot to deal with all at once.

Agree with all thas has been said. When we grieve for a human relative, that grief is at least socially recognized. You are given some time and more important your loss is acknowledge through formal means. Funerals aren't for everyone but they do serve a useful social function. With pets, the grief feels more personal because it seems like there's no collective recognition that this life had meaning and importance. At least you'll find that all the people who have been through it too are very supportive and understanding.

I had a similar situation a few years back with the original King Kat. He and his sister were my first adult pets (first pets period actually, my parents hate domestic animals). He was just the gentlest most affectionate creature and I really wanted him to stay with me forever and I don't think I'll ever build such a strong bond with another cat. I'd say it probably took me a full year to trully and fully grieve. I don't doubt that you did everything you could possibly do for your dog.

Sorry Dinger. I lost my pet of 10 years in March. It feels a lot like an actual family member dying, with the big difference being that you get over it a lot faster (for me anyway).
