I'd probably do it. I think dumb-dumbs like NJH are still underestimating Diaz. Scherzer is the second best pitcher in the game and I'm not really worried about his finger, plus he doesn't have as many innings riding on his arm as a lot of other top tier pitchers his age. Richards looks like a lost cause.

 

The gap from Diaz-Machado is much smaller than Scherzer-Richards and Diaz hitting second in a decent lineup should still give him some nice counting stats while also really helping your rate stats.

My team probably wasn't super duper terrible out of the draft, then I traded all my good players for draft picks which I vastly overrated and made some pretty questionable trades like Holliday and that Chinese guy for Correa and a pick, or Correa for Puig, Hendricks and Paddack. I'm still a bottom half team because my pitching suxxx but I think the offense is just about playoff quality.

 

I'm excited for the future, bros.

Your offense looks solid long term but there are a lot of high variance players for 2017. Zunino, Reed, Puig, Bregman, Nintendo, Pearce could all realistically give you either nothing or much less than you're hoping for. I don't think you'll have a "playoff offense" this year but I do think it's possible which is really something to even say.

Benintendi is sick, I'd call him up just to enjoy watching him play a bit more. It's not like he's going back down, and I think Boxy is past the tank stage of rebuilding. I actually don't think boxy will be a bottom 5 team this year!
