BTS Community Moderator Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 IMO he should be able to keep the name until he posts a .500 season. Or forced to keep the name. Either or. Boxy's finishes so far: 20, 20, 19, 20. I think the name is fitting until proven otherwise.

BTS Community Moderator Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Few can boast that kind of record of futility. It's actually pretty impressive.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 My roster is showing empty despite selecting keepers. I guess I'll just add them all manually. Edit: I see my keepers now. Not sure what that was about.

Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Sorry i am just clarifying before i do anything that you want us to manually add our current rosters manually on Yahoo today right?

Laika Community Moderator Posted February 13, 2017 Author Posted February 13, 2017 Yup, just add your remaining keepers if you have time. Free agency is open. Once everyone is at 20 dudes we can start the waiver draft. Your current roster will display on tomorrow's date, because we have next-day transactions.

jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 It looks like someone did the adds for me
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 It looks like someone did the adds for me Yeah, I went ahead and finished the adds. All rosters should now be set.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 13, 2017 Author Posted February 13, 2017 Thanks BTS (and everyone else)! The waiver draft can now begin on a clock-less basis. Keep in mind that eligibility is determined by whether or not they are in Yahoo's system by 9am on Thursday. I haven't scoured the list yet but if, say, Thames isn't in the system you could wait until then... just saying.

z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 This is the least likely of boards to forget about Thames being around
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 So Thames and young Gurriel are pretty much slam dunk 1-2, right?
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 13, 2017 Author Posted February 13, 2017 Chocolate Thunder needs no name drop.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 13, 2017 Author Posted February 13, 2017 So Thames and young Gurriel are pretty much slam dunk 1-2, right? I think you can argue for some guys over Lourdes, due to the uncertainty.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Alright I'll start it off and takes Thames.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 So Thames and young Gurriel are pretty much slam dunk 1-2, right? I don't believe Gurriel is eligible since he hasn't played at AA yet. I'm sure judges will rule him eligible, but I'll be a pedantic dick and say he doesn't technically meet the requirements for Rule 5.
TRM Verified Member Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Zach Lee would be a great pick in the early rounds
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 13, 2017 Author Posted February 13, 2017 I don't believe Gurriel is eligible since he hasn't played at AA yet. Sure he is. Read the rules!
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 I don't believe Gurriel is eligible since he hasn't played at AA yet. International guy who wasn't affected by international cap should mean that he's eligible I think.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Sure he is. Read the rules! I'm reading them right now. The Rule 5 Draft typically consists of MLB international signings, MLB players cut from keeper rosters, and unowned prospects (prospects may only be taken if they have played at AA or higher, see MiLB Roster Management; international signings that were subject to international spending limitations may not be taken in the Rule 5 Draft). --- That doesn't say that guys who weren't subject to spending limitations are automatically eligible.

It follows from that and think it's even stated explicitly in another rule. Anyway, it's how we've always done it. See also rule 2.4.
