IMO he should be able to keep the name until he posts a .500 season. Or forced to keep the name. Either or.

Boxy's finishes so far: 20, 20, 19, 20. I think the name is fitting until proven otherwise.

Few can boast that kind of record of futility.

My roster is showing empty despite selecting keepers. I guess I'll just add them all manually.

Edit: I see my keepers now. Not sure what that was about.

Next day transactions probably

Sorry i am just clarifying before i do anything that you want us to manually add our current rosters manually on Yahoo today right?

I haven't done this yet either.

Yup, just add your remaining keepers if you have time. Free agency is open. Once everyone is at 20 dudes we can start the waiver draft.

Your current roster will display on tomorrow's date, because we have next-day transactions.

It looks like someone did the adds for me

Yeah, I went ahead and finished the adds. All rosters should now be set.

Thanks BTS (and everyone else)!

The waiver draft can now begin on a clock-less basis.

Keep in mind that eligibility is determined by whether or not they are in Yahoo's system by 9am on Thursday. I haven't scoured the list yet but if, say, Thames isn't in the system you could wait until then... just saying.

Thames has OF eligiblity, that's a nice bonus.

Let the namedropping begin!

So Thames and young Gurriel are pretty much slam dunk 1-2, right?

I think you can argue for some guys over Lourdes, due to the uncertainty.

I don't believe Gurriel is eligible since he hasn't played at AA yet. I'm sure judges will rule him eligible, but I'll be a pedantic dick and say he doesn't technically meet the requirements for Rule 5.

Sure he is. Read the rules!

International guy who wasn't affected by international cap should mean that he's eligible I think.

I'm reading them right now.

The Rule 5 Draft typically consists of MLB international signings, MLB players cut from keeper rosters, and unowned prospects (prospects may only be taken if they have played at AA or higher, see MiLB Roster Management; international signings that were subject to international spending limitations may not be taken in the Rule 5 Draft).

That doesn't say that guys who weren't subject to spending limitations are automatically eligible.

It follows from that and think it's even stated explicitly in another rule.

Anyway, it's how we've always done it.

See also rule 2.4.
