BTS Community Moderator Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Just scouted Chance Adams' fangraphs page. He looks pretty good.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Jaime Schultz SP TBR Chance Adams SP NYY 9:41 Stat-scouting hard. Seems like these two guys have been written off as future RPs. Jaysblue up I strongly considered taking Kingslayer with one of my picks. He has harnessed his control this year and the stuff has always been good. It's just hard to see him getting an opportunity to start in Tampa, so he'll probably end up a reliever despite his recent successes.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 I also liked the Ockimey pick, he was another dude on my shortlist.

Him being an RP might be the best role for fantasy purposes anyway. I wouldn't hate it, necessarily. Making a pick or two that will probably resolve itself before the next draft is nice. Fun fact - apparently Schultz is just about the fastest worker in baseball. His "pace" is like 9 seconds between pitches. Watching minor league highlights, he sometimes starts his motion before the batter is even ready.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Pretty much all of my non-2016-draftees that I earmarked as possible 60 OFPs have been snatched up now; all the choice international guys, helium guys and late bloomers. Now I'm glad I didn't bother to acquire any late picks.

Jaysblue up / emailed. Aw, dang. I was really hoping to get Adams. His outlook may be SP3 now with his development this year, nice pick!
SpeedyGose Verified Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Trayce Thompson is a monster. That trade looks like it's working out nicely for both of us, Speedy. Love those trades. Still in wait and see mode on Trayce since his big league sample is still pretty small and he outperforming his milb stats currently but I am quite happy with the return I got for Sal

Still in wait and see mode on Trayce since his big league sample is still pretty small and he outperforming his milb stats currently but I am quite happy with the return I got for Sal A career .377 wOBA for a 25 year old CF is definitely promising, and he's kept his power gains going for awhile now. The walk rate is sweet. The fact that the Dodgers DFAed Crawford so they could give Thompson a full-time job was definitely a good sign, also. He's kind of right in that grey area before we all start acknowledging that perhaps he's just a much better hitter than anybody expected him to be. And he's a great athlete too, obviously. He's probably already a better hitter than Todd Frazier.

Think we can get to my pick at 66 before I leave?

My main concern with him right now is he has such a high GB rate and low LD rate (13% and 55%),with him only being a 55 runner I'm not sure how well that will carry over a season.

Yeah he doesn't have the batted ball mix to be a high average hitter, but that can change. The K/BB, ISO, and BABIP all check out very nicely. I'd love to get another share of him if I could, but I'll just enjoy him for the year in PL.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 17, 2016 Author Posted June 17, 2016 TT had an extensive minor league sample of being kind of a hacker. I think the power is undeniable but we need a few hundred more PA to figure out how the hit tool plays. He could hit max ceiling as a RHB version of Curtis Granderson, or something like that. He could also be nothing more than some platoon guy like Ryan Raburn. The sprinkle of speed actually helps his profile a lot though.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 We already knew that after you traded Hoz for Hansel Robles.

Laika Community Moderator Posted June 17, 2016 Author Posted June 17, 2016 and Saunders and Storen Michael Saunders has the 6th highest wOBA in baseball, lmao. The Blue Jays are doing a great job keeping him healthy so far but it kind of feels like an egg race.

As a Jays fan, I'm enjoying the ride, but I don't know which hits first between a serious injury and run-of-the-mill RTTM.

Up around .350 wOBA right now. He's hitting the ball really hard - some portion of the BABIP is not luck.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Nice. He's been in France for over a month now. Went to the French Open every single day. Can't tell you how much I hate him.
