I might be willing to move up into the next 5 picks if someone would like my 60th and a next year 2nd rounder. You can just pick for me and we'll complete it after the draft.

Should be a solid pick. that who I had as my pick behind Collins.

Yeah he's very intriguing. I took a real long look at him before opting for other options.

Did I miss power rankings yest? My ego hungers, Boxy!

Also nice job on getting a lol out of GP, is that a first?

Sometimes he lols when posters encounter misfortune. I'll do PRs later, I am currently engrossed in horribly boring schoolwork.

I'm gonna go with Alex Verdugo of the Dodgers

Yeah... That was the guy I expected you to take at 5 and probably should have given more consideration to at 6.

It was really between him, O'Neill and another guy and Groome, I guess. I wanted Pint so I guess I compensated with the next best thing from the draft.

I have pick #46 and would be interested in moving up to pick soon someway/somehow. Unless of course you all agree just not to take my guy.

Having him and other guy swing back to you has to be a pleasing development.

I'm really so ambivalent about this draft so I don't really feel anything one way or the other. I'm kind of in a "whatever happens, happens" mode.

That's fair. It's a pretty flat draft. Easily the flatest we've ever had.

You blatantly troll ITT one more time and I will ban you.

Come on, even Gibbers knew I was just messing around that time.

But point taken, I will be more subtle in my trolls in this thread going forward.

Literally just did this and decided to take Chris Paddack, small sample size be damned.

I see KK on the spreadsheet and he is up.

Never heard of him.

O.K. I'm going to do the opposite of NJH and set the stat scouting aside for a moment and go with Blake Rutherford.

Top bat left on my board, nice pick.

Not a guy I targeted or would have targeted normally but I like him a lot this late in a pretty thin draft.

I just looked up some reports. He actually sounds good.

Scouting grades: Fastball: 55 | Slider: 45 | Changeup: 65 | Control: 50 | Overall: 45

Paddack dominated as a senior at Cedar Park (Texas) High in 2015, going 11-0 with a 0.46 ERA and 16.1 K/9 in 75 innings. The Marlins made him their eighth-round pick in June and then lured him away from his commitment to Texas A&M with a $400,000 bonus, more than double the recommended value for his corresponding slot. Paddack's success as an amateur carried over to his professional debut in the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League, where he posted a 2.18 ERA and 39/7 K/BB ratio in 45 innings.

Paddack has an impressive combination of stuff and feel for a high school pitcher. An uptick in velocity in 2015 pushed his fastball into the 92-94 mph range in his pro debut, and he's already adept at locating it to both sides of the plate. Paddack's changeup is borderline double-plus and easily his best secondary offering, thrown with convincing arm action and outstanding tumble. He swapped his curveball for a slider during the high school season and then made progress with the pitch after signing.

Listed at 6-foot-4, 195 pounds, Paddack is just beginning to grow into his highly projectable frame, and some scouts believe he'll operate in the mid-90s at maturity. The right-hander uses his height to create good plane toward the plate, and it's only going to improve as he adds strength and gains better control of his core. Paddack will need to refine his command and develop an effective breaking ball, but he shows the early makings of a potential No. 3 or 4 starter.

Paddack has an excellent changeup that’s easily his best pitch, with great arm action and enough sink to be a potential swing-and-miss pitch in the big leagues. His fastball sits in the 92-94 range right now with good command, and the presence of his changeup makes it an above-average heater already. It’s a reasonable expectation to see increased velocity out of him as he matures. I haven’t seen his breaking ball yet, but reports say he scrapped his curveball for a slider that has promise, but still needs to be tightened up.

Paddack has some minor mechanical improvements to make, but most will be cleaned up by adding functional strength in his lower half. Having a very athletic delivery and smooth arm action, then coupled with room to add muscle to his tall frame give him all the potential growth you could ask for. With so much going for him, you have to count on him working in a viable third pitch over the next few years. As soon as his slider shows promise, he could be the top prospect in this system

I'm expecting Ace version of Marco Estrada with more fastball, in Marlins Park.

I think this draft is lacking elite talent, but has 50-60 interesting guys that I could see reaching fantasy relevant ceilings.
